Early Look at Temperley Resort/Cruise 2014 & A Favored Coat Re-Issued

We have several updates to share, beginning with an early look at a look at the Temperley London 2014 Cruise/Resort collection. We begin with three pieces in soft white and lavender with grey undertones.

You can see the vintage aesthetic.

Some pieces showcase a nipped-in waist with a skirt that flares out dramatically. Others are reminiscent of what we used to call “dirndl” shapes in a skirt or dress. The rich blue and elegant black shown above make a striking combination, the blush pink and black colors also pop.

More on the genesis of the designs via the Women’s Wear Daily (subscription required) review:

“She’s an enchanted princess from the South of France who lives a charmed life and only ever wears beautiful clothes,” said Alice Temperley of the imaginary muse behind her resort collection.

This group effectively demonstrates Alice Temperley’s continued expertise in creating distinctive, elegant evening gowns.

The rich textiles and saturated colors were appealing to the eye. More from the WWD review.

Temperley reworked Fifties couture proportions and rich fabrics in pieces that featured plenty of embellishment. In addition to her signature lace and embroideries, a black gown was replete with pink and green floral embroideries, and an evening coat and grand dress with a voluminous drop hem came in an opulent floral brocade.

Nowhere is Alice Temperley’s skill in creating distinctive frocks more evident than in these three pieces. Feminine, floaty, ethereal and elegant.

Clearly there is a lot to like. There are many pieces that would work well on the Duchess, do you have any favorites?

Good news for those fond of the MaxMara Studio coat worn by Kate when visiting Cambridge with William.

Previously known as the ‘Belli’ coat, this piece has been re-released and renamed, it is now the “Kate coat”. The price is almost $1400, £875.  That seems to be a lower price point than the “Belli’s” original ticket price of £980.

The wool-cashmere blend is the same, as are other elements of the coat. It was a flattering look on the Duchess, and will work on many different figure types.

We wanted to share a lovely report on a recent auction benefiting EACH, one of Kate’s patronages. The event was a huge success, raising more than £10,000 for the organization. More from a story by EADT24:

The hammer came down at the end of last month with a gala evening for those who took part in the fundraising. Organised by Russell Baker, lord of the manor of Little Moulton, of Bracon Ash, near Wymondham, the auction was supported by businesses and individuals to raise funds to provide care and support for children with life-threatening conditions and their families across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Some may recall we received a blog comment I mentioned on Facebook, it was from a woman who won the baby hamper Kate donated.
“The Baby Hamper donated by HRH the Duchess of Cambridge is so very pretty!!! I will cherish it!! The EACH charity auction event by Lord Baker at the Artique Galleries in Norwich last night was wonderful! Thank You Kate!!”

The lucky winner is Dayna Stewart, she has been gracious in sharing a few photos from the event, here we see Dayna with Tim Clarke, they attended the event together.

Here is a better look at the hamper donated by the Duchess to the EACH Charity Auction:

Dayna shared some of her thoughts about the evening:

Laura Shearing from EACH explained the hospice has a running cost of £15,000 per day to provide the care and support for children with life limiting illnesses. Any amount that is contributed to EACH makes a real difference and the money goes directly to the running of the hospice and the care provided. The staff at EACH are deeply committed and passionate about their work and it is clear to see why Kate chose become a Patron for this charity.
This photo shows how the hamper was displayed.

Back to Dayna’s comments on about the evening:
Winning the hamper was wonderful and I will cherish this lovely item, but the truly inspirational and unforgettable part of the auction was seeing how deeply devoted all of those involved are to this very worthwhile cause.

You can also read more about the event here, or at the EACH site.

This offers the perfect segue to the Fundraiser for EACH several royal bloggers are doing, this site included. All proceeds from the “Baby Cambridge Fundraiser” go directly to EACH. We have been sharing promotions and contests as a way of bringing attention to the to Fundraiser, hoping it will encourage donations.

We leave you with a few photos from June 4th, the day of the Queen’s Coronation 60th Anniversary church service. These are courtesy of Sarah Campbell, who managed to get quite close to the Abbey. She also managed to get very close to Prince Harry when he unveiled a plaque commemorating the Royal Wedding of William and Kate.

I love all of these looks. I tried to find a favorite but couldn't. Just when I thought the drop waist long skirt was "da bomb" I scrolled down and saw that pretty red short dress and long skirt with what looks like 3-D flowers on them. I think the Duchess would look lovely in that shade of red. Lots of pretty things here to drool over.

All of these Temperly clothes made me drool, but especially white floor-length gown with the red flowers on the neckline - stunning!! I can see Kate wearing this.
