We have several updates to share, beginning with an early look at a look at the Temperley London 2014 Cruise/Resort collection. We begin with three pieces in soft white and lavender with grey undertones.
You can see the vintage aesthetic.
Some pieces showcase a nipped-in waist with a skirt that flares out dramatically. Others are reminiscent of what we used to call “dirndl” shapes in a skirt or dress. The rich blue and elegant black shown above make a striking combination, the blush pink and black colors also pop.
More on the genesis of the designs via the Women’s Wear Daily (subscription required) review:
“She’s an enchanted princess from the South of France who lives a charmed life and only ever wears beautiful clothes,” said Alice Temperley of the imaginary muse behind her resort collection.
This group effectively demonstrates Alice Temperley’s continued expertise in creating distinctive, elegant evening gowns.
The rich textiles and saturated colors were appealing to the eye. More from the WWD review.
Temperley reworked Fifties couture proportions and rich fabrics in pieces that featured plenty of embellishment. In addition to her signature lace and embroideries, a black gown was replete with pink and green floral embroideries, and an evening coat and grand dress with a voluminous drop hem came in an opulent floral brocade.
Nowhere is Alice Temperley’s skill in creating distinctive frocks more evident than in these three pieces. Feminine, floaty, ethereal and elegant.
Four more styles.
A final group of evening gowns.
Clearly there is a lot to like. There are many pieces that would work well on the Duchess, do you have any favorites?

Good news for those fond of the MaxMara Studio coat worn by Kate when visiting Cambridge with William.
