I think this is the best dress Kate has worn to a tiara-required event in a very long time. The embellishment is completely appropriate to the occasion and does a wonderful job of matching with the various pieces of diamond and pearl jewellery. The all-white and smooth look is the right backdrop for the blue and yellow orders. While I am no longer much of a fan of the Lover's Knot tiara after it first wowed me many years ago, I find the dangling pearls much less distracting than usual with all of the complementary jewellery and unfussy dress. A spectacular look and a great debut for Kate's first state dinner as Princess of Wales.
