Happy 11th Birthday, Princess Charlotte!

Happy 11th Birthday, Princess Charlotte!

Happy Birthday wishes to Princess Charlotte, who turned 11 on Saturday!

Kensington Place shared a new photo to mark the occasion. It was taken by Matt Porteous last month during the family’s Easter break in Cornwall.

You can see how much the Princess has grown in the last year when putting this year’s picture next to last year’s official birthday photo.

And here you can see how the two eldest Wales children both look in their official eleventh-birthday photos.

As has become the practice recently, the Palace also released a brief video of the Princess.

Here is the message from social media that came with the video.

The video was also shot by Matt Porteous during the family vacation. We see the Princess playing with the family’s dogs, Orla and Otto. Last Friday, the 1st, Kensington Palace announced that Otto is a member of the family; he is one of Orla’s puppies.

More from this People piece.

Set to calming background music, the video showed Charlotte petting the family’s two cocker spaniels, Orla and Otto, as they affectionately looked up at her. Princess Charlotte could then be seen cuddling one of the dogs on a boat.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ daughter was also seen writing a message with seashells at the beach, as well as running barefoot and playing cricket in the sand, in the footage shared.

Another image from the birthday video.

We have been treated to some lovely images of the Princess in the past year. In May, she joined her parents and brothers for VE Day 80th anniversary events.

Here you see her with her mother.

A wave to the crowds outside Buckingham Palace as they watched a military flypast.

And another mother-daughter photograph.

At Trooping the Colour in June, we saw the Princess again.

Here she is taking part in the traditional carriage ride with her mother and brothers.

Another view.

On the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony.

And in a family photo shared after the event.

We saw the Princess with her brothers and father in Father’s Day photos of the Wales family that were shared on social media in June. The images were shot in Norfolk by Josh Shinner. In the black-and-white shot, you see the children with their father on a bed of daffodils.

In mid-July, the two older Wales children joined their parents at Wimbledon

The Princess watching the Gentlemen’s Final match with her mother.

Meeting the winner, Jannik Sinner, after the match.

As part of the commemorations for Prince George’s twelfth Birthday in July, Kensington Palace released a video with all three Wales children.

We next saw Princess Charlotte in December, at the taping of the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service at Westminster Abbey.

Another mother-daughter moment.

We were surprised (and delighted) to see Princess Charlotte performing a piano duet with her mother that aired as part of the concert broadcast.

It was recorded in early December at Windsor Castle’s Inner Hall and was used to open the ‘Together at Christmas’ carol concert.

Christmas Day brought the Royal Family’s walk to and from church at Sandringham.

Princess Charlotte took part in the annual tradition with her brothers and parents.

Smelling some fresh flowers given to her by a well-wisher in the crowd.

A cheery wave.

The next time we saw the young Princess was at another family gathering.

The occasion? Easter Sunday services at Windsor.

The young lady looked very much at ease despite the crowds.

She certainly seems to have perfected the royal wave.

Here is one more photo from Easter.

Here you can see just how the Princess has grown through the years.

Belated best birthday wishes to Princess Charlotte! (I was traveling and unable to write a post.)

I hope Princess Charlotte had the Happiest of 11th Birthdays!

To me she kind of looks older, in her Birthday photo, than 11, maybe 15 or 16.

I also see lots of determination in her face, as well as kindness, courage and intelligence.

Her features make me think of her father, and her father's mother (Diana) and, of course, Queen Elizabeth.

From the start, I've been struck by how strong Charlotte's resemblance to Queen Elizabeth is, especially in certain photos.

The Birthday video and the charming photos of Princess Charlotte are delightful, and I'm very glad that we have a Princess to celebrate!

In 2015, I was quite happy that the new baby was a girl! I also love that her name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana - all such beautiful names!
