We are very excited to share news about another fabulous giveaway with our friends at London Sole. (You may want to pay particular attention to the flats shown in the upper left of this picture.)

London Sole Blog

Many readers know of the brand started by Jane Winkworth, she is described by VOGUE magazine as “The Queen of Ballet Flats”. Loved by royals, celebrities and ‘just plain folks,’ the footwear is increasingly popular.

More on the brand from the Daily Mail:

The Duchess of Cambridge ordered some new pairs just last month. Kate’s sister Pippa and mother Carole are big fans too – as are Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, not to mention a host of A-list celebrities including Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Katie Holmes, Helen Mirren, Sarah Jessica Parker and Emma Watson.

Kate wears the Pirouette and Henrietta styles, below we show the Quilted Henrietta.

Back to the Daily Mail’s story:

Now Jane’s most famous customer is the woman who would have been Diana’s daughter-in-law. ‘I am very lucky that the Middletons wear my shoes without me even asking,’ she says.

‘Carole wore them first and then the girls followed. The Duchess was in a few weeks ago picking up some pairs. She likes the Henrietta style.’

One FYI: the company is called French Sole around the world with the exception of the US, where it is London Sole.

Ms. Winkworth shared these thoughts about the Duchess’s style:

When she wears my shoes, we have sold out of that style within two hours. We take calls all day long and emails from around the world wanting the shoes she has worn. She has model good looks, perfect manners and style, she is gracious and compassionate, she has the best legs on the planet and could wear a bin- bag and look sensational. She is helping British fashion and retail right back onto its feet and we love and applaud her for it.

Here we see another of the Middletons in the brand, Pippa Middleton wears the Pirouette Red Nubuck and Pirouette Beige Leather with Black Trim.

Another fashionista recently spotted in the shoes, Olivia Palermo, below we see her wearing the Henrietta leopard flats.

It is wonderful to see the company’s growth on both sides of the pond, those interested in following London Sole on Twitter can do so in the following ways:

But we have strayed from our primary purpose, I apologize. Back to the contest, the lucky winner will win a pair of these fabulous flats.

London Sole Henrietta UK Flag Design

That is the London Sole Henrietta UK Flag style, something the company sold out of almost as soon as they received them earlier this year.

The Henrietta is the ultimate in luxury ballet flats, our most popular style! Spanish made, rubber soles, leather lining, and leather insoles – all with fully adjustable laces.

Now the shoe is back in stock, but once again flying out the door.

With the gracious assistance of London Sole, we will be giving away one pair of these. Here is how to enter:

  • For one entry, leave a comment with your favorite shoe style from London Sole *other than* the Henrietta or Pirouette;
  • For a 2nd entry become a London Sole fan on Facebook & let us know you did. If already a fan, just include that info in your comment so you receive this additional entry;
  • For a 3rd entry, post the Giveaway on your blog, Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter page & leave a comment telling us you did;

You can leave a separate comment for each entry, or put them all in one, whatever works for you. We’ll keep track on an Excel spreadsheet and pull the winner using a random number generator. A few more details:

  • You do not need to live in the United States to enter, London Sole is generously allowing us to open the contest to international entries.
  • We will accept entries until midnight on Wednesday, June 27th, and then announce the lucky winner in a post next Thursday.

Oct 202011

We have a delightful surprise to share this morning: we are doing a giveaway for (insert drum roll) a pair of London Sole shoes! Most readers are familiar with Kate’s fondness for this company’s ballet flats, she has been seen wearing them on many occasions.

So when the company got in touch and asked if readers might be interested in winning a pair of the Duchess’s fave flats you can imagine my reaction, I almost crawled through my monitor with glee!

To be more specific about the prize, one lucky lady (or gentleman) will win her choice of either a pair of Pirouette or Henrietta flats. Below, the Pirouette is shown in Burgandy Croc patent leather.

London Sole ‘Pirouette’

The Pirouette is one of the brand’s more popular styles, a classic ballet flat with working drawstring ties, retailing at $165. Below we show it in an uber-elegant Grey Patent with darker grey trim, Leopard Ponyhair with red trim and Black Patent.

London Sole ‘Pirouette’

Here are two pair of Henrietta quilted flats, the shoes on the left are what Kate is seen wearing up above (the chocolate croc in patent leather) on the right we see the black croc in patent, these are both wonderful basics that can be worn time and again.

London Sole Quilted ‘Henrietta’

The Henrietta is made in Spain, it actually provides more support than the Pirouette, has a leather bottom and adjustable laces – think of it as an all-day trip to the spa for your feet. This style retails anywhere from $195 to $255.  Below, the Henrietta in Quilted Black with Gold Stud detail, Red Double Stitched Patent in the center and Platine Leather on the right.

London Sole Henrietta

Some of the Henrietta styles come with a rubber sole as opposed to the more standard leather sole, the Ginger Blue Croc shown in the center is one such shoe, that pair is flanked by the Multi Glitter Fabric on the left and Silver Sequin Fabric on the right. (Can you say fun party shoes?!)

London Sole ‘Henrietta’

One editorial note, something that almost always comes up when chatting about this brand: in the UK the brand is French Sole, for those of us on this side of the pond the name is London Sole, the company is the same.

Okay, enough blathering We admit to being excited about the Giveaway; it is crisp and cool outside, time for a little fun and frivolity. Here is the scoop on how to enter.

  • For one entry, leave a comment with your favorite shoe style from London Sole *other than* the Henrietta or Pirouette;

  • For another entry, become a What Kate Wore or Shop Kate’s Closet fan on Facebook & let us know you did (If already a fan, just mention that in your comment know so you receive this additional entry!)
  • For multiple additional entries, tell a friend! For each friend leaving a comment that mentions your name (or your blog or email or other means of identifying you) you receive two additional entries!

You can leave a separate comment for each entry, or put them all in one, whatever works for you. We’ll keep track on an Excel spreadsheet and pull the winner using a random number generator.
