Kate made a solid sartorial choice tonight, opting to recycle a piece worn in Los Angeles, rather than risk upstaging bride Zara Phillips at a party celebrating tomorrow’s nuptials. Ms. Phillips is marrying longtime love Mike Tindall tomorrow.
The Duchess wore the Diane von Furstenburg Maja dress in green silk again, her decision to remain low key keeps the attention where it should be, on Zara. For those interested in the dress, it remains available in almost every size on the DVF site, selling at $398 USD.

About repli-Kate, i think Kate and Diana not only share the Tod’s D-bag but also the Anya Hindmarch Maud clutch: look at Diana’s bag at the Royal Albert Hall for Swan Lake (1997). Could be the same item? Definitely not an intentional sharing but almost the apple (of the style) never falls far from the tree!
I, for one, absolutely adore that DVF dress. I think she looks stunning and the shape of the dress gives her great curves. I agree with one of the above comments that it was totally okay for her to recycle it so quickly, seeing as she wore it half a world away previously. Her hair looked amazing and I think she looked radiant, but understated enough not to attract too much attention away from the bride. Love her!
Might Kate’s hair be a little brighter-chestnut-than-usual here and at the wedding? Or perhaps the light is playing tricks on my eyes . . .
When Beatrice, Eugenie and Catherine all step off or on the boat, they do look a bit like the teletubbies in their unicolored enitrety…

The shoes are black PRADA silk shoes. She wore them so often now and someone identified them as being Prada because of the golden emblem on the sole. Moreover, the person identifying it, said that older Prada shoes had a black sole and the emblem slightly further up whereas newer Prada shoes have a cream leather sole and the emblem further down. I don’t know why this is not mentioned here as it was a pretty clear straightforward ID…
The dress seems to be sold out on the DVF site. You can only reach the the Maja page with a Google search, and then the site won’t let you select color or actually add it to the shopping bag

Haha the funnist part is he gets mistake for Harry all the time. Only difference is he’s 3 years younger then Harry and has all his hair (I think Harry might be starting to loose some).
It was too soon to re-wear that green DVF dress…I agree she should have worn a recycled dress to the wedding, so as not to take the focus off the bride (as Diana always did), but she should have pulled something older from the wardrobe, the green DVF was worn far too recently to repeat. I also agree with Polly – this is a really “heavy” green for Kate…she suits jewel tones (more than the pastel/nudes she favours), but this is such a saturated green, it wears her, in my opinion. She should wear mid-tones.
I agree with that post: Kate showed diplomatical skills in her choice to let the bride and other guests shine in the spotlight, but it was too soon to recycle that particular dress!!!
It is not kate, but judging the very firts pictures of the wedding it seems that Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice has made a wiser choice in her outfit compared to what they wore in April. Nice girls!
If she were wearing the dress to an affair where she was seeing the same people that she saw two weeks ago, you might have a point. However, that particular dress was worn in LA where she and her husband were hobnobbing with a different group of people entirely.
I for one think that she looks good in that particular color – she has the ability to wear both vibrant hued colors as well as colors from the more muted side of the palette. Not everyone is so fortunate.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice do no always pick clothes that flatter their figures. Both girls inherited what seems to be more of the solid build of both their parents. Tight. form fitting outfits are not as flattering on either young women (IMHO). However, as with most young women, it sometimes takes a while to move from what is trendy w hether flattering or not) to developing a style sense of what looks best – incorporating trendy items where appropriate. My guess is that they will both develop a style of their own that will be flattering. It took their mother a while as well.
So excited about the events this weekend! Kate looks fantastic, per usual. Thanks for sharing a picture of the bride & hubby-to-be too. They seem like a great couple.

I LOVE that she recycled the dress – I mean, this is what we all do. I know that DVF was probably a “drop in the bucket” cost wise for her, but if I had a DVF dress – you can bet your bottom dollar I’d be wearing it to more than one event, no matter if I’ve been seen in it.
2nd – I still can’t get over her gorgeous hair and beautiful engagement ring. Gah.
3rd – Harry is a STUD.

Prince Harry is a splitting image of my own brother lol. Its kinda scary. But I do LOVE that Kate wore her DVF dress again. DVF is amazing and I hope she wears her more.
