The police presence is visual proof Kate is inside the hospital, she is said to have arrived with Prince William at approximately 5:30 BT, 12:30am EDT.

The Duchess of Cambridge is likely be relieved their baby is finally on its way after coping with being pregnant in the middle of Britain’s longest heatwave for seven years.
Kate has been admitted to hospital on what is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far.
The mercury is expected to reach 33C (91.4F), with the Midlands and the South of England the likely contenders for the hot spots.

The expectant mother is being tended by a top medical team led by the Queen’s former gynaecologist Marcus Setchell, who delivered the Countess of Wessex’s two children.

Catherine, like Princess Diana before her, will now be in a private en-suite room in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s, designed to provide “comfort and privacy”.

The expectant mother and her visitors can access the internet on wi-fi and there is a choice of a daily newspaper delivered to the room each morning.

The news is being greeted with great happiness and elation throughout Britain. The local paper covering Bucklebury, Newbury Today, noted the growing popularity of champagne in the area, more from the story by Ellis Barker.
Momentum has been building in Bucklebury, where the Middleton family now live and close to where the Duchess was raised in Chapel Row, for many weeks, with residents and local businesses alike having a stash of champagne at arms length ready to toast the royal arrival.
