We have a delightful surprise to share this morning: we are doing another amazing giveaway for (are you ready?) a pair of Aquatalia by Marvin K. boots. It seems like a delightful way to celebrate the one year anniversary of Kate and William’s engagement announcement.
Most readers are well aware of Kate’s fondness for this company’s footwear, she has been seen wearing their products on too many occasions to enumerate. Below we show Kate in the ‘Rhumba’ boots in black stretch suede, now known as the Flinch; this style is called ‘Hi and Dry’ in the UK, available at Russell & Bromley.
Below, another pair favored by Kate, the ‘Rouge’ bootie, renamed the ‘Royal‘.
More from Aquatalia by Marvin K.:
Kate Middleton embarked on her first official engagement with Prince William wearing a pair of Aquatalia by Marvin K. ‘Rouge’ booties in espresso suede. Kate and William visited an RNLI lifeboat station in Anglesey, England, close to where the Prince is based as a search and rescue pilot. Aquatalia products are sold exclusively in the UK at Russell & Bromley, where they call the style ‘Ruby Dry’.
Back to our contest, when Aquatalia got in touch and asked if readers might be interested in winning a pair of the Duchess’s fave boots you can imagine my reaction, I almost jumped out of my chair. To be more specific about the prize, one lucky lady (or gentleman) will win a pair of Aquatalia’s Flinch boot, retailing at $695 in the US.
A few points of interest about the Flinch:
- they are constructed of luxurious (and weatherproof) stretch suede with a half inside zipper (amen to this!)
- there is a padded leather footbed for comfort, the 3.4″ stacked leather heel has a .8″ inside platform (2.6″ walking height)
- Slip resistant rubber sole (this makes life *so* much easier!)
But that isn’t all, we also have a special gift certificate code just for our WKW readers, Facebook friends and Twitter followers now through midnight ET this Friday night, the 18th. To receive $50 off any Aquatalia purchase, use gift certificate code Kate50 at checkout. If pondering a purchase, don’t dawdle, we are only able to offer this discount to 100 shoppers over the duration of the contest. The offer is valid only on US and Canadian orders. (One FYI, because the ‘Royal‘ is sold exclusively at Nordstrom, the special code cannot be applied to this style.)
A few more details on the contest:
- as noted, the contest runs through Friday night ET at midnight, any entries must be registered by then
- if Aquatalia does not have the winner’s size available in the Flinch, the winner may select another pair of comparable boots of equal or lesser value
- You do need to live in the continental United States or Canada to enter the giveaway for the boots, Aquatalia will only ship the winner’s boots to those locations. (A tip: there are many services that ship internationally, you may want to look into those services, such as this one, or it might make sense to see how willing friends/family living in the qualifying countries are to help!)
Here’s how to enter:
1) Follow this link to the Aquatalia.com contest page; fill out the contest entry form, sign up for the Aquatalia newsletter and agree to the rules and regulations of the contest.
2) For a second entry,’Like’ the Aquatalia page on Facebook
Have fun!

I liked Kate's shopping outfit. I love Mulberry and have been coveting the Polly bag, so I'm glad she is giving the bag lots of use. Since she was going with a Mulberry theme perhaps the bracelet was the Mulberry charm bracelet.
My personal quibble about her shopping outfit is that Kate's boots look too loose around the calf just to be worn with tights. I have thin calves and I know it can be hard to get boots which fit properly but if they don't they remind me of pirates and firemen, or just seem a bit sloppy somehow.
I also agree with the comments about the outfit for the school visit being a bit casual. Someone introduce the Duchess to a pair of Joseph pants, stat!

After winning the London Sole I may be pushing my luck but these boots are my FAVORITE of all time! I've always been a boots girl, and black suede is my favorite. Fingers crossed for a second win! Hehe :)
