Who remembers where they were eleven years ago? The photo above is from July 23rd, 2013 when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduced their baby boy to the world. And now the young Prince is eleven. Happy Birthday, Prince George Alexander Louis!
A new photo of Prince George was released today to mark his 11th birthday. It was taken by the Princess of Wales earlier this month and accompanied by the following message.
More from The Telegraph’s piece by royal editor Hannah Furness.
The Prince’s birthday may this year feel particularly poignant for the Wales family, who have had a challenging year and are now enjoying the school summer holidays as a family.
The young Prince, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have been by their mother’s side as she has been recovering at home from a serious abdominal operation and then a course of preventative chemotherapy.
Here is the new photo alongside last year’s birthday photo. In this year’s image, the Prince is dressed more formally, wearing a suit and button-down shirt. You can see a friendship bracelet on his left wrist.
We have been delighted to see the Prince several times in the past year. In mid-December, he joined his family for the taping of “Royal Carols: Together At Christmas” tonight.
Another view of the older Wales children at that event.
Just a few days later, we saw photos of Prince George and his siblings volunteering at a baby bank.
The images were screengrabs from a video about the family helping out at Baby Bank Windsor.
The children were featured in a black and white photo used for the family’s holiday card.
An additional image with just the three young royals was also released.
On Christmas Day, we were delighted to see all three children again.
Another view.
It has been a challenging year for the family with news of the King’s cancer diagnosis and treatment, followed by the hospitalization and preventative cancer treatment for the Princess of Wales. In May, the Prince joined his father at the FA Cup final when Manchester City and Manchester United played at Wembley Stadium.
It was a delight to see all three Wales children with their mother at Trooping the Colour in June.
The heavy rain that day prompted the use of covered carriages instead of the open carriages we usually see.
The Prince of Wales and his two sons.
One more photo from Trooping the Colour.
Also in June, a family photo taken by the Princess of Wales was shared to celebrate Prince William’s birthday.
We next saw the older Wales children in a photo with Taylor Swift.
The superstar shared a selfie with the royals.
Just last week, the Prince accompanied his father in Berlin to watch England play in the 2024 UEFA Championship match.
One more view from last week’s match.
And now, take a look at Prince George over the years.
Happy Birthday, Prince George!

I wanted to share one more photo taken by the Princess of Wales.
The photo shows the two younger Wales children watching England playing Spain in the UEFA Championship that Prince George attended with Prince William. England was not victorious in that match, and this message was posted with the photo.
I will see you later this week with a poll on the Princess’s Wimbledon styles.

Hadn’t checked the page for a while. Eleven years?! How young his parents look.
George is turning into a very self-possessed young man, a bit reserved looking when when surrounded in larger groups, even with his father, but a charming personality seems to be bubbling underneath. Shades of his father....... in more ways than one, I used to see more Charles Spencer in him, now I see a lot of William. Fascinating how all three are changing as they get older.
I wonder if that very pronounced cowslick drives him crazy - I can see lots of impatient brushing it back out the way in the next few years until he finds ‘his’ hairstyle!!!

Wow, such a modern, stylish, pared-down portrait of George. It’s almost hard to believe that he’s only 11; there’s a real sense of increasing maturity here. I love how relaxed he looks, and I love the cute friendship bracelet!

Happy Birthday Prince George! And congratulations to his mum on producing such a beautifully composed and lit portrait of her first-born. He look so sophisticated and mature now after we've been watching him from his chubby-cheeked youth, and we can only marvel at how quickly the years have flown by.

He really had the *best* faces when he was little, the most mercurial, fun expressions!
