The Princess was in a creamy white style today at Wimbledon for the Ladies’ Singles Final match between the USA’s Amanda Anisimova and Iga Świątek of Poland.
The Princess has been Wimbledon’s patron since 2016. Above and below, you see her with Deborah Jevans, chair of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Below, a wide shot as they cross the Players Bridge to Centre Court.
A social media post from Wimbledon.
Before the match, the Princess met with volunteers and staff.
Above, you see her with 8-year-old Lydia Lowe, selected to do the coin toss for the Ladies’ Wheelchair Singles Final—more from this Telegraph piece.
The Princess, 43, was also urged to “take deep breaths” by eight-year-old Lydia Lowe ahead of her appearance at the women’s singles final. During a touching exchange, the Princess asked the child, who overcame a brain injury last January and had to learn how to walk again, what it meant to her to perform the coin toss.
She asked if the girl had a favourite tennis player and whether she was feeling nervous.
When the Princess asked if she had any advice for her ahead of her own appearance, the child replied: “Don’t be nervous [and] take deep breaths.”
The Princess responded: “Take deep breaths, okay, I’ll remember that. Thank you.”
The Princess and Ms. Jevans then headed to the royal box.
As the Princess took her seat, there was a standing ovation from the crowd.

Then it was time for the match. Below, Iga Świątek and Amanda Anisimova as they waited to take to the court.

The temperature was 90° F as the match got underway, according to Weather.com.

Iga Świątek celebrates winning a point.

It was a short match, just 57 minutes. More from this NY Times story.
Poland’s No. 8 seed prevailed over the No. 13 seed from the United States in a one-sided clinic of a match, ultimately decided by Anisimova’s nerves, Świątek’s clear-headed tactics and the relentlessness that makes her one of the best players in the world.
There’s no other explanation. A Grand Slam final. A Wimbledon final. The Princess of Wales. As Carlos Alcaraz said after his first match here this year, “Wimbledon is different.”
The Princess greeted ball boys and girls as she arrived on the court to award the trophies.
She also greeted umpires and line judges.

And awarding Ms. Świątek with the champion’s Venus Rosewater Dish, a silver salver measuring 18.75 inches in diameter.
The Princess applauded both women.
More from the Wimbledon site.
Receiving the Venus Rosewater Dish from the Princess of Wales, the Patron of the All England Club, made a remarkable afternoon even more memorable for Swiatek.
“On the court, she congratulated me and said some nice stuff about my performance. I didn’t want to make a faux pas. Since I was a kid, I’ve been a big fan of the royals,” she said.

And now we turn to our look at what Kate wore for today’s match, a style I believe is another midi dress by Self Portrait. (I also think it’s another dress that can initially look like separates.) The single-breasted jacket portion of the dress has a military or utility feel to it, with a mandarin collar, short sleeves, pocket flaps (I don’t know if they’re functional pockets) at the hip and bodice, a self-belt, and self-covered buttons.
It very much looks like a bespoke Self Portrait piece. You can see the similarities between today’s look and the Lime Boucle Collared Chiffon Midi Dress worn for the Ladies’ final in 2023.
The Princess carried a new bag today by Anya Hindmarch in chalk-colored leather. The Neeson Small Square Tote ($1490) showcases woven leather, adjustable handle length, and the signature Anya Hindmarch bow woven into the leather. It is available in a larger size ($2050) at Marissa Collections.
Thank you to Ellie, Kate Middleton Style Blog, and Middleton Maven for this ID.
The Princess brought back her Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon Sling Pumps (now sold out) in the 85mm heel height. (I show them below left in another color and fabric.)
The Princess wore a new pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses. With thanks to Carly at Kate Middleton Style for the ID, they appear to be the Ralph by Ralph Lauren Cateye style ($79.50) in Black Havana.
The sunglasses are also available at Designer Optics ($78), Glasses.com ($79.50), Sunglass Hut ($106), and Lenscrafters ($53 for the frame only, I believe.)
We saw what could be a new Halcyon Days bangle. In some light, it looks like the Maya Torque Bangle ($215, sold out) in the Diamond colorway. The bracelet is 18ct gold-plated twisted brass with glass cabochon stones. In other lighting, the stones almost look light blue, so I’m not 100% convinced it is this piece.
The Princess also had on her Cartier Trinity Earrings ($3350) and her Wimbledon pin in the Club’s purple and green colors.
This Today piece offers more on the pin’s significance.
A representative for the AELTC told TODAY Style the duchess’s bow is reserved for the club’s patron, president, committee of management, vice presidents and four members of their executive staff.
I’ll leave you with a video posted by Kensington Palace after the match.
A wonderful day at The @Wimbledon Championships! Congratulations @iga_swiatek on a brilliant victory! 👏🎾 pic.twitter.com/jDr1b7uJCj

I am expecting we’ll see the Princess again tomorrow for the Men’s Final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

She certainly does go in "streaks" when it comes to outfits, doesn't she? Remember all the pantsuits?
I don't dislike this, but compared to the blush Dior ensemble, with that flawless jacket especially, anything else would have to look less-than. I do like the cream color, and I think the Nehru collar is quite fetching, but I'm mentally editing out the flapped pockets, which I think are gilding the lily. I probably would have preferred a somewhat less chunky belt, too, although it must be noted that the fit is quite perfect, and that is contributing to a wonderfully trim and neat appearance overall.
Her hair and the new bag are fantastic, and hurrah for the Rossi slingbacks!

LOVE the new handbag. It's a fresh look for Catherine, with the right touch of casual elegance for this summertime event. Glad she wore fine (real) earrings. But why a mere gold-plated, crystal bracelet on our Princess of the Realm? While this white Self Portrait outfit is very nice, I consider it a repeat. IMHO, her 2023 ensemble, wearing the brand's "tennis ball" green boucle chiffon midi dress, with her hair tied back, is a notch above this year's outfit.

@Zell, thank you so much for thoughtfully reading my comments and taking the time to respond. I too just checked back to see if anyone else had commented on this thread because I love when we have a respectful dialogue about the Kate's style. I am in complete agreement with your additional thoughts on the "rules" of fashion, personal taste, and taking risks with our style so it can continue to evolve.
Over the past two or three years my own style has evolved as I've gotten older. It hasn't completely changed, but somehow has become more refined. Not in the sense that I've become more elegant, but that I have a stronger sense of self and am much more confident with my choices. Through a combination of genetic luck and taking care of myself, I'm as fit today in my late 30s as I was when I was younger, but even though my body hasn't changed, the styles I've been drawn to have. I've always loved fashion but I can't imagine the scrutiny of evolving your style while being able to enjoy it when you are under the microscope like the Princess is.
I'm a long time reader but it's been a while since I've commented, I look forward to reading more of yours!

@BerryRose,
Hi, BerryRose, I'm so glad I checked back to see if any replies came. I don't want to ignore anyone, even inadvertently, but I don't receive notifications, which is fine, I am not complaining, but also, I Love your detailed repsonse and am glad I will now get to respond back to you in a timely way.
Thank you for educating me about these beautiful bangles! I really admire the style of them, and would love to own one. Thank you, also, so much, for reminding me that, last year, Catherine wore two of these cuff bracelets, and each one had lovely blue stones. I think doubling up on them looked Terrific on Catherine! Here's a link, for anyone who wants to see them:

The less is more with jewelry is a time tested rule (it comes from Coco Chanel, no less!), and one can't go wrong with that rule, and I think (although I can't know) that Catherine might be sensitive to wearing too much jewelry. She gets critiqued on every detail of every outfit, including here, by me, you and everyone, (and I'm not saying it's wrong, as I really enjoy writing volumes about her style, but I'm also glad I'm not in her shoes, lol)! It can't be easy.
And, what I'm saying, is that good taste has time tested "rules," but there's also personal taste, too, and I love it when people take chances with clothes, colors and jewelry!
That's why I'm so thrilled that Catherine, in her own way, does also take chances, be it wearing bohemian styled earrings, or 2 bracelets, or a tulle skirt...it's so Fun to see!

@Zell, coming in a bit late with these comments but a couple of observations: I also love that the Princess wears costume jewelry, and chooses styles that are classic and true to her style.
I agree with Susan regarding the identification of this particular Halcyon Days bangle. I'm not convinced that it's the "diamond" colour way. Why? The photos were taken under bright sunlight which washes out colour, but to my eye it still looks a little blue. Also the "Maya" or twisted version of the bangle hasn't been available for purchase for quite some time, it seems to have been replaced by the "Salamander" version which has a lizard skin texture. While it's possible that Maya version in the "diamond" colour-way was purchased long ago and just making a public appearance now, I think it's more likely that this is the "Maya" version in the "aquamarine" colour way which she has been wearing since early 2020.
Since the Princess often re-wears outfits, which I think we all admire and appreciate, one aspect of her style that I really look to is how she accessorizes. A few things that I have noticed:
Kate loves these Halcyon Days bangles, probably because they are a classic style and she loves to incorporate colour via gemstones into her jewellery (as her extensive collection of Kiki McDonough earrings demonstrates). To top it off they are made in the UK by a company with a history of royal warrants. In addition to the Maya in aquamarine, she owns the Salamander style in both aquamarine and forget-me-not, and also has another style, the "Hammered Torque" bangle in the forget-me-not. She particularly seems to like to wear this style at Wimbledon. I checked and this is the third year in a row that she has worn one or more of her Halcyon Days bangles at her appearances there. Last year she even wore both of her bangles in the forget-me-not colour way in a little stack which was very elegant with her beautiful violet midi dress.
I believe there are a number of reasons she likes to wear these bangles at Wimbledon. The first being, it's a very British event, and it's a very British company, so its a good sartorial fit. We often discuss how she uses her clothing to send messages. The second is that while watching the matches, she occasionally points or gestures, so having something on her wrist is a nice accessory. Finally, the Princess tends to wear bracelets, and usually goes for bangles (or her Cartier watch) when she is wearing a dress with a neckline that doesn't suit necklaces. If you look at her Wimbledon dresses over the past 3 years, when they have a higher neckline so she opts for earrings and bracelet. I'm not saying that she never wears earrings, necklace, and a bracelet at the same time, but for less formal events, she seems to err on the tasteful side of "not doing too much". So you'll notice earrings and a necklace, or earrings and bracelet/watch. If she is wearing all three types of jewellery they will be quite discrete and delicate. I go into detail about all this because I think it's worth noting that elegance is in the details, and what we choose not to add to an outfit can make a difference in how put together we look.

@Bonnie A,
"...her decision to wear costume jewelry probably reflects her non-royal beginnings and family."
I agree it probably does, but also, Diana, while not from a Royal background, came from one extremely Artistocratic, and she seemed to enjoy mixing her jewelry game up re: costume & "real." I wonder if it might just come down to people who love all kinds of jewelry compared to those who only want "real"? Neither way is wrong. It's what one prefers. Catherine certainly wears a tiara and other important jewelry from the Royal vaults when the situation calls for it, but for much more casual events, I don't see why she should limit herself to only "real" if she likes costume too, and I'm so glad she doesn't. I think she does a great job wearing both kind of jewelry. Thanks for your reply, Bonnie A.!

@Zell, @Sally, interesting jewelry discussion! I agree with your points Zell, her decision to wear costume jewelry probably reflects her non-royal beginnings and family. Also that she expresses herself with it, has a play, changes things up. It does enable us mere mortals to access her style. I have two Catherine inspired pairs of costume earrings.

Catherine, The Princess of Wales, is back at Wimbledon, and the Princess looks SO HAPPY!!!!!
Going back, for a moment, to the Wimbledon of 2023, (the Admin has provided a link to that time), I decided to read my comments, on a very similar outfit that Catherine wore in 2023.
(In my own mind, I have always completely & enthusiastically adored all of Catherine's Self Portrait dresses, so I was surprised that I had a bit of a caveat, for the Wimbledon dress of 2023). I wrote, back then:
"My problem is with the top part of the dress. I’m not one to say something is too boxy, but in this case, it is, for me. Or maybe there’s too many pockets."
And now, in the present time, when I observe how full and lovely the skirt for the 2025 dress is, I think that I must have found the 2023 version of this dress, with its more slim skirt, not quite as effective a balance to the top, even though it was still a very pretty dress, including the glorious citron color of it. That duly acknowledged, I'm so glad that the 2025 Wimbledon Self Portrait dress is a Complete success for me!
The tulle "skirt" is definitely more full looking, to my eye, and looks even better with the top because there's just more to the skirt & what a lovely part of the dress that skirt is!
The slightly severe top, with its hint of military flair, is lovely to see, especially above the full, dreamy skirt of the dress. Also, the belt is wider than the 2023 lime green belt, (a nice bit of an improvement, in my view). I also admire the mandarin collar, which brings a softening touch of elegance to the top.
The delectable hue of light cream is also great on Catherine, especially as the strong sunlight has the pretty effect of giving a glowy quality to it, and especially to the tulle skirt.
Catherine's hair is Marvelous with such romantic dressing. Long hair with silky ripples has always been seen as an especially feminine way to style hair and Catherine has always been noted for her beautiful hair. This continues, I'm happy to note!
The special touches that make Catherine's look the finished art of elegance that it is, are also present: her remarkable engagement ring, her graceful watch, and the lovely, slightly sporty, Halcyon Days bangle. Chic earrings and a new, gorgeous, bag, are also perfect!
Lastly, her heels, although slightly lower than she seems to prefer, are no less elegant. They are in a very intriguing shade, that I cannot quite place, a color that looks to be kind of both gray and a beige, with just a hint of subtle, silvery sheen. It is a remarkable and beautiful color, that is made even prettier by the velvety look of the soft suede.
My last observation about Catherine's look is that the cream Self Portrait dress is downright swoon-worthy, and might turn out to be my day-time candidate for Catherine's Especially Swoon-Worthy looks!
It's also a real treat for me to see Catherine in two amazing looks in one week: her palest of pale pink (with-a-hint-of-beige), Dior outfit, that showcased a dramatic, structured jacket with a full, tulle skirt, and now the light cream dress for Wimbledon, that has a similar, utterly elegant silhouette of great beauty.
Sometimes opposites play very well together, and they definitely do that, with the Self-Portrait dresses and with Catherine's stunning pink Dior look!
Catherine has always had Great Wimbledon Style, and, with this dress, she, again, hits it out of the park!
And now, I Cannot Wait for "What Kate (will wear)" for the Wimbledon men's final!

@Zell, well you were right on the money about the width of the skirt making all the difference on how the top and bottom balanced and made the outfit seem more harmonious. So thank you for your observation :)

@Jacy,
So true, your observations, and now realize that I am much more fond of the citron outfit than I realized back when Catherine wore it, although, if the skirt had been fuller, I think it could have been a total winner for me. As it was, however, the color was undeniably marvelous on Catherine! I tend to prefer the light cream, though, if only because, in sunlight, it looks so angelic, almost. Such a dreamy hue, that make the smart top & lovely tulle skirt almost glow. Thank you for your reply, Jacy!

@Zell, I think the fuller skirt is the result of more underlayer(s) done perhaps because the skirt is cream colored, to prevent too much sheerness, or to prevent a more filmy skirt wrapping the legs. Agree it looks a little better than the citron outfit, the sllouhette is cleaner- although that citron color was just perfect for Wimbledon.
