It’s Katherine Hooker for Kate at Order of the Garter

The day was anything but gray for Kate at today’s Order of the Garter ceremony, she selected a Katherine Hooker coat and dress for the occasion. The Duchess chose Ms. Hooker’s raw silk Buxton Coat in a dove gray, officially referred to as ‘ash’.

While slightly similar to the sky blue Catherine Walker ensemble Kate’s mother Carole wore for the wedding, but a good look at the pieces show the distinctions, from the lapels and shoulders to the length of the garments.

The hand-beading on the cuffs and waist is a nice touch, Kate fashion fans will recognize many of the designer’s other looks on The Duchess prior to her marriage to Prince William.

These images come via our Kate’s Favorite Brands-Clothing page, she has long been fond of Ms. Hooker’s designs.

The exquisite hat is by milliner Rachel Trevor-Morgan. The milliner is a royal favorite, the Queen has been seen in many of the designer’s hats previously. (We expect we’ll see more tomorrow at Royal Ascot.)

Kate accented her look with elegant grey suede pumps by Rupert Sanderson.

As far as the bag goes, we’re still working on it and will let you know as soon as we have information on it.

Big credit for some of today’s detective work goes to Dana and Leisa on the WKW Facebook page, as well as Kate Middleton Style, pop over for a visit, we’re pals and she nailed this one, correcting the Daily Mail’s misidentification of Kate’s hat.

I realise this is a while ago now but for anyone wondering the clutch is by British brand Emmy and from the name I'm guessing it is the same used by Mrs Middleton at the wedding http://www.emmyshoes.co.uk/scripts/col-accessories.asp?colcode=caroleclutch

Emmy also made the matching shoes worn by Ms Middleton: http://www.emmyshoes.co.uk/scripts/col-roundtoe.asp?colcode=carole&subcatid=4

I actually think that the dress underneath is a Joseph dress which is currently sold at net a porter http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/165256 Having seen it on a mannequin in Selfridges over the weekend, it does drape to give the cowl neck effect that Kate has, especially with a coat on.

I noticed that Kate's coat is made from Simla Silk which is stocked at http://www.james-hare.com/2307-simla-silk.php If anyone wants to have a go at creating their own :)

I'm fairly certain that the shoes are the 'Malone' style by Richard Sanderson

To be honest, I don't like this oufit at all. It's overly classic, even dull and the colour doesn't flatter the duchess. However, it's nothing compared to the periwinkle coat she wore the day before. Her first fashion faux pas, according to me.
