Kate’s Hats and Boots: Pick Your Favorites

As we continue our year end polls it is time to move to accessories, our first poll looks at Kate’s chapeaux.

We start our visual refresher with the elaborate Vivien Sheriff worn to Anglesey in February for the lifeboat christening ceremony.

The Whiteley worn at the Epsom Derby in June.

The black Philip Treacy seen at Trooping the Colour, also in June.

The silvery-grey Rachel Trevor-Morgan for Order of the Garter, yet another of the many June events.

The Jane Corbett paired with the Jane Troughton brocade coat and Zara dress for church services celebrating Prince Philip’s 90th birthday in mid-June.

Another Rachel Trevor-Morgan, this time for the Irish Guards ceremonies on Armed Forces Day, also in June.

Kate’s iconic red Maple Leaf hat for Canada Day was created by the talented Sylvia Fletcher for Lock & Co.

The Gina Foster seen at the July wedding of Zara Philips and Mike Tindall.

The black Jane Corbett for Remembrance Day in November.

And the berry or aubergine by Jane Corbett seen Christmas Day.

Now it’s time to pick your favorite.

There aren’t quite as many choices for our second poll today, a list of the Duchess’s boots worn this year is much shorter.

The Aquatalia Rouge bootie, worn in ‘espresso’ suede. (Now called the ‘Royal’ and available at Nordstrom.)

Kate wore her taller Aquatalia boots with some frequency, most recently for the visit she and William made to Centrepoint.  Below we show her wearing them for a February trip to St. Andrews, now sold as the ‘Flinch’ by Aquatalia, at Nordstrom they are called by the original ‘Rumba’ style name. (They were known in the UK as the ‘Hi & Dry,’ sold at Russell & Bromley).

The R. Soles ‘Vegas Setter’ boots worn in Canada at the Calgary Stampede.

The Le Chameau wellies seen in August for Kate’s walk on the beach with Pippa, and as recently as Christmas Eve’s football game.

The Stuart Weitzman ‘Zipkin’ worn for the UNICEF EastAfricaCrisis.org event in Copenhagen in November.

Love all her hats. The Order of the Garter one is my favorite, I actually bought a hat like that for the Kentucky Derby.

This FB post and comment lead me to believe the Trooping the Colour hat is actually James Lock & Co. rather than Philip Treacy. Thoughts? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150212325297707&set=o.135413943146845&type=1

She really had some great hats, so difficult to choose! I went for the Rachel Trevor Morgan at order of the garter but I really liked the brown Vivien Sheriff, I thought it was cute and appropriate, especially because I think the original post discussed her having Vivien use the insignia of the lifeboat batallion? There was some sort of symbolism that gave a nod to the organizers and I really liked that. Otherwise, the other Rachel Trevore Morgan was great and I thought her hat for Zara's wedding was really beautiful.

Oh, and for boots! I'm not a huge fan of Kate's boots ... I like sleek leather boots, combat boots, and cowboy boots, not so much a fan of the boots she wears (although she looks great), So I voted for the cowboy boots. :)
