Today we’ll do another of our live blogs as the Duke and Duchess make their arrival in Mumbai. That means the most recent information will be at the top of the page. We’ll also do a standard blog post when things quiet down and there is a break in the activity. FYI: All times shown are EDT.
11:45am Okay, we’re off to write posts, live blog is done for the day, and perhaps the rest of the tour, we’ll have to see how things shake out with the schedule.
11:10am A better look at Kate’s earrings.
10:58am Kate’s earrings are by Amrapali.
10:33am Our first post is completed but we return to our live blog format for tonight’s gala. The gown is by Jenny Packham with hand beading on the fabric done in India. The earrings are by Amrapali.
9:02 We’ll stop our live coverage for the time being so I can get some posts written.
9am It looks like we have gotten the shoe issue resolved, we think Kate was wearing the Monsoon Fleur in taupe ($79). The savvy What Would Kate Do team sorted out the correct shoe.
8:20 William & Kate put flower petals in the river.
8:15 If looking for more detail, the Daily Mirror’s live coverage is here.
7 AM Kate and William with children from the Magic Bus, Childline, and Doorstep.
6:33 And to further demonstrate my ineptitude this morning, the wedges Kate has on now are not the Mint Velvet Grace, there are differences at the sole of the shoes. The Grace has a small platform, and Kate’s shoes do not. 6:17 We have news about the shoes Kate wore this morning for her arrival in Mumbai: they are not Gianvito Rossi, they are LK Bennett‘s Fern style.
6:10 Another look at the dress on the runway. 5:55 It’s possible Kate’s dress, or at least the fabric, was shown last week at Lakmé Fashion Week, which just wrapped up in Mumbai.
5:40 It looks like Kate is in new wedges for cricket, the Mint Velvet Grace Suede Wedge in mink. UPDATE: Kate is not wearing the Mint Velvet, there are clearly distinctions toward the sole that I missed. So we’re off to hunt for the proper shoe designer.
5:32 A better look at Kate’s Anita Dongre dress and new wedges.
5:20 Kate & William have arrived at the cricket.

At first glance I didn’t love the Anita Dongre dress-the fabric looked busy, but the colors are very on trend. And the more I saw it “in motion” the more I liked it. It suited the event and the heat. I wouldn’t/couldn’t wear those wedges but Kate often does and seems to have no problem with them.

Love her looks at the beginning of this tour. For the last few months, I have been really disappointed by some of her sartorial choices. Just not a lot of excitement. Today she looked young and vibrant again in these bright clothes. I love the choice of earrings for the gala. She never goes bold, and I love that she chose earrings that were a statement. She is so lovely she can carry off anything and it exciting to see her going in a new direction.

I'm pretty sure the blue earrings are nothing close to costume jewelry. I had a look at the Amrapali website and I think they are diamond faceted sapphires and rather pricey. They co-ordinate but don't compete with the dress's beautiful beading. I love this whole look on Kate. At first glance I didn't love the Anita Dongre dress-the fabric looked busy, but the colors are very on trend. And the more I saw it "in motion" the more I liked it. It suited the event and the heat. I wouldn't/couldn't wear those wedges but Kate often does and seems to have no problem with them. The McQueen was somewhat formal probably suiting their arrival. I think black heels/clutch would have made the dress look too wintery. I like Kate's version better than the original on the model.

Love the evening gown -- perfect Kate! She always looks great in Packham and the beading and gauzy shawl are so appropriate. Love the Dongre ... beautiful and appropriate for the day. The McQueen looks great from the side, love the peplum and the nod to Indian culture through the pattern and color. Not my favorite, but you can see what she's trying to do and it's a lovely gesture all around. Hair up in the Packham gown and the gorgeous matching clutch are winners.
