Kate Wears Dolce & Gabbana & byTiMo for Final Day of Tour in Norway

Kate was in a mix of brands for today’s morning engagements on day 4 of the royal tour.

The Duke and Duchess started the day at Hartvig Nissen School, joined by Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Video of the couple arriving.

The school is where an extremely popular tv show called Skam (Shame) is filmed. I *think* the gentleman on the far left is one of the show’s stars, actor Tarjei Sandvik.

Before heading into the school the Royals did a walkabout.

There was quite a crowd eager to see the royals.

Here’s a great video from The Mirror’s Victoria Murphy with Kate talking about going to school at Saint Andrews University.

More on the show from The Express:

The series focuses on the daily life of teenagers at the Hartvig Nissen School, in Norway’s capital city Oslo.

The royal couple joined students and mental health support staff to learn about the impact the TV show had on bringing important issues out into the open. They also met some of the stars and producers of the show.

Below, Kate with Norwegian actors Iman Meskini (c) and Josefine Pettersen (r).

Simon Perry provides this background in his People article:

Each season of this popular show, which ended after its fourth season in 2017, focused on topics ranging from relationship difficulties, identity, eating disorders, sexual assault, homosexuality and mental health issues.

A group photo.

The Duke and Duchess as they left the school.

After the school visit, Kate and William enjoyed a private lunch at Skagum, the official residence of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Now to what Kate wore for the school visit and lunch, beginning with her Dolce and Gabbana coat.

We show the coat in black at Farfetch ($1873); I’ve not been able to locate it in Kate’s plum color. (The photo on the far left has been digitally lightened to better show product details.)

The piece is a double-breasted style made of virgin wool. It features peaked shoulders, oversized flap pockets and a broad collar. My guess is that one of the things Kate would find appealing is the tailoring detail.

Looking at Kate you can see her buttons are a shiny metal while those seen above are horn or another material; it’s possible Kate had hers changed to the buttons seen on the coat today.

Beneath the coat, the Duchess wore a dress by Norwegian brand, byTiMo. When she identified the dress HeavenQRF also shared that the label is one of Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s favorites. The dress Kate wore today is a loosely-fitting shift with elbow-length sleeves, a high neck, and concealed zipper; we show it at Tucknernuck ($295). On the byTiMo website, the dress is shown as sold out.

We learn more about the byTiMo in a Daily Telegraph column by Georgina Lucas.

By TiMo is a particularly inspired choice for Kate. Not only does the brand deliver floral prints and loose-fit silhouettes (perfect for her growing baby bump) but the label is focused on sustainability. A ‘we care’ section on the brand’s website describes its responsible concerns – employing disadvantaged women from the local community in Oslo and selecting fabrics to reduce waste and ‘enhance (a garment’s) longevity’.

One of the more distinctive design elements is the applied black lace at the collar, waistline and shoulder seams.

Kate accessorized with her Bayswater Wallet Clutch by Mulberry.

And her Beatrice gloves by Cornelia James.

As well as her Tod’s pumps.

The Duchess also wore her Mappin & Webb Empress earrings ($3750).

Kate wore her hair down with a side part.

We’re off to finish our second post covering the afternoon’s events at Holmenkollen!

I just received the ByTiMo dress and it is HUUUUGE on me. I usually wear a medium and that is what I purchased, but I am drowning it in. Such a shame, because the lace details are pretty. I would have loved to see how it fit Kate; perhaps her bump helped to fill it out.

I have been trying to get to the first day of the tour and can’t seem to do it. I’m pressing previous post (above comment section) and it will take me one day back. Press it again and it takes me to the last day of the tour. I have also tried the other option. Thry toggle back and forth. I’m not sure if it’s my phone or a glich in the system. This has been a wonderful tour, thank you so much Susan. I look at WKW as soon as my eyes are open in the morning.

Thank you for letting me know about the problem, Carol, I'm sorry that function isn't working. Is it something you have had any problem with before, or is it just this post?

Yes yes yes! From the brief snapshots on social media, I thought the only looks I liked head to toe on this tour would be the casual ones. But I love everything about this! The plum colour is gorgeous, the details on the seams are impeccable, the collar is fantastic. The dress reminds me of her patterned blue-green Seraphine, only in a different colourway, and the details at the neck and waist are a wonderful addition. Great to see the solid tights again. It was so sweet to hear Kate talk about meeting William at university!

Hmmm...but Kate took of her coat during her visit to CP Victoria’s residence, Haga palace...so it must be the cold thing. The McQueen boucle dress would be much warmer compared to the byTimo dress she wore in Norway. I mean, there were in the presence of the media too, if not how else were those shots taken?

I love, love, love this coat. Plum is one of my favorite colors and this coat is just beautiful.

I think I'd have liked the dress if we had been able to actually see it; it certainly looks nice on the model.
