Yes you are right, I didn’t consider this aspect. It’s all about her incredible strenght and energy and the magic around the family...I love them! I’m looking forward to know the name!! ?

The pictures and videos of Prince William beaming, him bringing Prince George and Princess Charlotte to visit, and of course the Duchess and Prince William coming out with their new beautiful boy is absolutely contagious as their joy and excitement is so evident!! They are such a beautiful family and I wish them nothing but health and happiness!!

Congratulations to William and Kate, I knew it was going to be a boy ! Been waiting for the news, I didn’t expect it to be yesterday though was shocked when I woke up yesterday to the news she was in labour ! I expected the coverage to be going on about the fact he was born on England’s patron saint’s day, never mind the rest of the UK ( I’m Welsh ) but actually they haven’t been too bad. He’s a beautiful little boy and Kate looked stunning, she’s the best looking woman after giving birth I’ve ever seen ! And George and Charlotte, Charlotte especially I adore she’s one adorable little girl.

Can’t wait to hear the name, Albert was my original choice after the Queen’s father, but now I think Arthur with Philip as one of the middle names and maybe Michael ? I don’t think Philip as a first name because then there will be two Prince Phillip’s, it would be a nice tribute as a middle name. So pleased for them ????????????????????

I think her dress choice had more to do with it being St. George's Day, patron saint of Great Britain, as a nod to what Diana wore after Harry. I doubt they usr the name Henry or James as a first name. Henry is Harry's actual first name and he may want to use it for his child. Her brother and brother in law are both Ned James. That would be a bit much. I do hope they use a family name from her side as part of the name.

Saint George isn’t the patron saint of Great Britain, just of England. For the rest of Britain it’s Saint David for Wales and Saint Andrew for Scotland. We don’t have a joint patron saint.

Hello everybody! First of all thank you Susan for your great job with the live of yesterday and for the entire blog, I love it and steadly follow it from Italy! I also noticed something odd in the dynamics of the day, as Margaret reported, particularly about the visit of the two little Cambridges - who are simply adorable -. I think that sometimes Royals have to do what people expect from them: people would love to see George & Charlotte come to meet their new brother, and so they did, even if the visit took only half an hour before the leaving of the whole family. Surely the babies went home with somebody else and I think someone has been very busy in taking off the 2 car seats from the Duke’s car to let charge the newborn baby with his own chair and the Duchess in the back seat: what an organization little children need, most of us know it very well!!?. I was also wondering another thing: do you think it could be plausible that Kate had a planned delivery – even a caesarean? I really find excessive the coincidence with the Patron’s Day and that Kate was ready with a dress in the colour of St. George, don’t you think? And more, the hours of the entry in hospital – early morning – recalls the schedule of the surgical operations. I’m curious to know what you think about. I finally want to share with you a consideration: maybe she will never become, but I think Charlotte could be a perfect Queen one day, her adequacy is more than evident! “Isn’t she lovely?”. To conclude, I hope you will excuse my bad English and hope you could understand my message! Waiting for the name to be disclosed, I vote for Philip Michael Henry ?

I have had a number of planned c-sections and there is no way I could have been walking around 7 hours later. I don't even think the spinal had worn off completely at that point. It is not unusual to go into labor in the middle of the night and arrive at the hospital early morning- I did this with my two unplanned c-sections.

She didn’t have a caserean, she was admitted into hospital in the early stages of labour so not a caserean. She had the baby naturally with no pain relief according to the papers today after a five and a half hour labour. It would come out if she had a caserean and she certainly wouldn’t have left hospital the same day after such a major operation let alone stood on the steps so soon afterwards ! I don’t think even Kate could do that ☺️ was just a coincidence the baby was born on Saint George’s Day, that was apparently her due date anyway ?

Hi Giorgia.

I don't think the Duchess had a planned/Caesarean delivery. Though complications can certain occur that require a change in plans, the Duchess has remarked on several occasions about how keen she is about having a natural birth. It was even rumored this time around that she and Prince William had been discussing the possibility of a home birth because both of them dislike all the disruption a royal birth causes for other patients/families who are at hospital at the same time.

Lucky for her, the Duchess apparently also has had (comparatively) easy deliveries -- some reports have said she didn't even require the use of an epidural for the first two births and delivered with the assistance of midwives under the observation of her obstetricians. If indeed she has had such easy/drug-free deliveries, that could well contribute to how well she always seems to look after the babies' births.

As far as the Duchess' post-partum wardrobe -- she and her staff were well aware of her expected due date. Whether the red and white Jenny Packham was selected as "the dress" no matter what the date of delivery, or selected as "the dress for April 23rd," is hard to know.

The Duchess apparently however, didn't arrive at the hospital with her post-partum wardrobe. Her stylist, Natasha Archer, arrived/exited the hospital via a back entrance about an hour before the birth and apparently dropped off the Duchess' wardrobe to be worn later in the day. See: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5646847/Kates-stylist-Natasha-Archer-spotted-leaving-Lindo-Wing.html

In terms of the Cambridge vehicle and the need to swap out baby/booster seats, Royal comings and goings are usually executed with military precision, so I'm sure staff made sure the right equipment/accessories were in place/removed as appropriate. The Cambridges also recently upgraded their "family transport" from a five-seater Land Rover to a new Land Rover Discovery that seats seven. See: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5649229/Kate-William-upgrade-new-60-000-seven-seater-Land-Rover.html

With now a family of five and usually one to two security officers in attendance, no doubt they needed the extra room. Plus, who knows? Maybe the extra baby/child seats are tossed in the back when not needed. I doubt it, but it would be fun to think at least in that respect, the Cambridge's family life isn't all that different than many others with three children under five in tow. ;)

There is no way to leave hospital on your own two feet only hours after abdominal surgery. As an obgyn I rule out a cesarean. After a natural birth, on the other hand, it isn’t uncommon to be up and well quite quickly. Women tend to deliver more quickly with every child they have and Kate appears to be no exception from that rule. (Although hardly anyone looks so polished so shortly afterwards, I guess her styling-team is worth their money)
