Hello-Hello and welcome to a happy post that is also very brief. Happy because it is all family photos, and brief because it does not involve any clothing identification or discussion, how unusual is that?!
The new images were released to mark Father’s Day and Prince William’s 38th birthday, shared on the Kensington Palace social media accounts.
This photo was shared today.
And here is a better look at the photos released yesterday.
The images were shot earlier this month by the Duchess at the family’s country estate, Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham grounds. The photos are just darling and everyone looks like they were having a rollicking good time when Kate was taking the pictures.
Today the Palace released two more photos on social media with the caption, “Happy Father’s Day!” This first one is of a young Kate with her father, Michael Middleton.
Here is the second photo released today, showing the Prince of Wales and Prince William at Sandringham in December. It was also taken by the Duchess.
It was also posted on the Clarence House social media accounts accompanied by the caption, “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duke of Cambridge today!” The Monarchy’s social media account posted birthday wishes as well in a post featuring a photo of HM and William.
Father’s Day was also celebrated on the Royal Family social media accounts with photos featuring the Duke of Edinburgh. You can see all of them in the Instagram post below.
Happy Father’s Day to all those celebrating the occasion, and also to those celebrating the wish or memory of a father.

I just love these pics!! And my hat off to the DoC for more wonderful photos! How refreshing to see the children roughhousing with their Dad. And who else thinks Prince Louis looks a lot like his Grandpa Middleton?
What a sweet bunch they are. I don’t know who was hoping for a nice photo of William with his children for his birthday (I know I read a comment about it somewhere), but I’m so delighted that wish came true!
Cannot believe how different Louis looks after only a couple months. Don’t tell, but he might be my favorite of the three. Although I think Charlotte is just the picture of childhood summers with those overalls, long legs and bare feet. And George’s big smiles go straight to the heart. What a lovely family. The joy on William’s face is obvious.
Oops, Charlotte’s got shoes on, hasn’t she! I guess the carefree image ran away with me.
Well, yes, Sansa, Charlotte is wearing shoes, but there are no shoe laces. So that is a pretty carefree statement.
Pure joy in these photos ! Love all if them !
Oops of the photos !
What wonderful pictures! Looks like summer break is in full swing for the 3 Cambridge kids with their dad, they must be so happy not to be doing Zoom school anymore.
Thank you for all the posts of Kate’s appearances and retrospectives of Kate’s fashion and fashion flashbacks. I haven’t been commenting much lately because emotionally I’m all over the place but I read every post! Loved the dress polls too. 🙂
The happiness and joy in all of the photos really warms the heart. Kate really captures her family members so well and its a wonderful gift that she has shared with us. The joy in Prince Charles and Prince William’s expressions make a wonderful Father’s Day photo for all to enjoy.
So well put! The picture of Charles and William is so sweet.
You said it perfectly. As adorable as the children are, something really tugged at my heartstrings seeing the photo of William and Charles.
The Cambridge family photo album must be an absolute delight to flip through.
Beautiful pictures. Thanks for posting. Happy birthday Prince William and happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there.
They are gorgeous pictures! What a lovely happy family.
There is a very nice piece in one of the UK papers pointing out that the swing in the first picture was a present from the Prince of Wales, which is a sweet way of making a reference to him in the photo. The picture of William and his father is delightful, showing their close relationship.
Simply wonderful photos and how natural a capture Kate can make of her own beloved family. She can take full advantage of how much at home they feel around her and her camera. The Cambridge family seem to excel in knowing how to have fun.
I can’t believe how fast the children are changing, Louis looks so grown up and is developing film star looks. Charlotte’s legs seem to get longer by the minute and, not for the first time, she has quite the modelling pose. George looks full of beans and confidence, and reasonably grown up in long shorts rather than the kind embracing George’s chubby little legs.
And William looks every inch the hands-on Dad by diving into such a scrum with the little ones. Terrific effort all round and thanks so much for posting.
Lovely pictures. Well done Kate.
The kids must have enjoyed having their parents at home and being at Anmer close to the nature, instead of in London. Even if poor Kate said somewhere that home schooling is hard work.
To LadyLeah:
As it looked like a warm day, I have “decided” that Kate wore one of her homely dresses with flip flops and a pony tail, and she looked as lovely as always 🙂
Berenike,
I love that image in your mind! Yes, I’ll bet she’s relaxed and lovely as ever. I can “hear” Kate laughing at the kids and their antics.
How sweet are these photos??? I may or may not have been staring at them since last night! And I love the photos released today of William and Charles and of William and the kids all in a heap on him. They look like such a happy family as normal as they can be in their position. It’s also nice to see the love between Charles and William especially because Charles got so criticized for being a good father. And while all the kids look adorable, I adore Charlotte’s outfit!!!!!
Such a sweet picture of Prince William with his dad.
All of the Cambridge children are beautiful and look very happy. Little Princess Charlotte is already turning out to be a great beauty.
These pictures warm my heart. I am so happy that William has these three beautiful children with the Duchess. He deserves this happiness after the sudden loss of his mother when he was so young. Happy Father’s Day, YRH.
J’aime beaucoup la photo de la balançoire.
Peut-être verrons-nous plus tard une semblable avec Kate 🙂
C’est la première fois que l’on voit Charlotte avec un short, enfin ! ! Très mignonne.
Belle photo de Charles et William.
I know exactly what Kate wore: a big, beautiful smile, accented with giggles and sighs of delightful joy as she recorded the family pile-on!
Best comment, Anne! There can be no doubt!
What a treat! And it’s lovely to see Louis looking like a little boy, and not a baby anymore.
How gorgeous are these pictures?! I think they’re my favourite Cambridge family photos. They make me nostalgic for the days when my kids were the ages of the Cambridge kids and horsed around with their father the same way. Those days pass so quickly; I’m glad to see William getting the most out of this time of his children’s lives – and that they have the photos to remind them of it!
It is just so perfect – happy children, happy father. Happy us.
Major kudos to Kate’s photography talents. Each time she releases photographs, I’m amazed at how much more professional she has become.
Thank you for sharing these awesome photographs!!
Very heart warming
Well, isn’t this just darling?!
These are delightful photos. What a special treat!
Thank you for this post, even if we have no idea what Kate wore 🙂
Such lovely photos to commemorate this Fathers’ Day. It is a little odd that Mothers’ Day is different in the UK from the date in North America, but that we share the same Sunday for Fathers’ Day.
How evident it is that Prince William is a hands on father and that there is great love between him and his children. The photo of the four of them on the swing is wonderful! You can certainly tell that George and Louis are brothers. I’ve always seen Michael Middleton in both of the boys and it looks like they have inherited his thick hair.
People in Ireland and the UK celebrate Mothering Sunday on the fourth Sunday in Lent since the 16th century. It falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Day. Once observed as a day on which people would visit their “mother” church, it has become an occasion for honouring the mothers of children and giving them presents
It is increasingly being called Mother’s Day, although that name also belongs to the American and Canadian secular holiday which is quite distinct from the original Mothering Sunday.
This is the reason why mothering sunday is very different from the US’s Mothers Day.
There is no long tradition with fathers day.
Thanks, Vanessa for your excellent explanation. Good to see that the men now have equal rights, or equal recognition in having their own Fathers’ Day, even though the original Mothering Sunday had a different purpose.
Mother’s Day or Lady’s Day corresponds to the Feast of the Annunciation in the church calendar (March 25th or around that time).
Thank you Vanessa for that explanation.
It is weird but different countries have different days for Mother’s and Father’s Day around the world. I remember when I lived in Spain, Father’s Day was in March! Mother’s Day in France was beginning of June (which I know offhand because my dad always calls my grandparents in France for these kinds of holidays). Not sure why there are so many differences across the world but I’m sure there’s a story in each country as to how Mother’s and Father’s Day were established.
