A photo was released today to mark tomorrow’s 73rd wedding anniversary of HM and the Duke of Edinburgh. In the image, you see HM and Prince Philip looking at an anniversary card made by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

A closer look at the card, complete with the ’73’ that stands out from the card’s background.

The photograph was taken Tuesday in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle. Below, a closeup view in a photo released by Kensington Palace Friday morning.

In the image released today, HM is wearing a brooch that she also wore on her honeymoon in 1947. The couple was staying at Broadlands, an estate in Hampshire owned at the time by Lord Mountbatten, Prince Philip’s uncle.

You see the brooch in this photo, also taken at Broadlands. It recreated the 1947 honeymoon scene in honor of the couple’s 60th anniversary.

The Court Jeweller notes, “From the start, Elizabeth chose the brooch for important events.” A closer look, including a detailed view from the most recent wearing of the brooch (r), an October 2019 reception for the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.

A view of Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten at Westminster Abbey on their wedding day in 1947.

And in a photo marking their 70th wedding anniversary.

You may recall there was a private party at Windsor Castle celebrating the 70th anniversary. Here you see the Duke and Duchess on their way to that event.

Happy Anniversary to HM and HRH!

Also today, a couple of quick retail notes to share. The first involves Monica Vinader, where the entire site is discounted by 25%. This brings the price of Kate’s ‘Siren’ Earrings from $175 to $131.

The second involves a collaboration between two Kate-favored retailers, department store Marks and Spencer, and boutique retailer Ghost London.  The M&S X Ghost collection launched today.

Dresses in the ten-piece limited edition collection are at $105 – $139 on the US site, and £59 – £79 on the UK site. One style is slightly similar in color scheme to the Ghost ‘Anouk’ dress worn by the Duchess in April of this year.

More from this Evening Standard story:

…launching shortly after the womenswear styles will be three mini-me dresses, designed to match the adult styles.

Touker Suleyman, owner of Ghost said: “We are delighted to collaborate with M&S to offer our signature prints and contemporary silhouettes together in a limited-edition collection… and we are proud to present our first foray into childrenswear with three mini-me Ghost dresses. As a loyal M&S customer and having worked with the brand in different capacities over the past 20 years, it’s been fantastic to collaborate on this collection which we are confident the customer will love.”

Warmest congratulations to this amazing couple on their anniversary, and what an enchanting portrait with the family card. Very touching that the Queen wore the lovely Chrysanthemum Brooch again. I’m so glad they have the homely comfort of Windsor to retire to away from the world.

Intriguing to learn of the Ghost tie-up with M&S, a great find for lovers of floral patterns! And thanks for all the sales tips, some happy hunting in store there 🙂

A marriage of 73 years is quite spectacular in all countries and all walks of life. Warmest congratulations to Her Majesty the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Although the Queen is loved and appreciated for her sense of duty and service, it should be noted that Prince Philip has been her constant source of support for over seven decades. He is a perfect example of a strong man, who puts his own ambitions aside, so that his wife could fulfil the destiny of her role.

Kate has already shown that she too will take the role of consort very seriously. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip must feel secure in the knowledge that William and Kate will be a strong team, who work hard and rule with dedication and duty.

I seriously agree. True love is setting aside one’s ambitions and dreams for your spouse. Thank you for pointing that out, Bonnie.

      Absolutely agree !!

And they still look so happy together. There are no fake smiles in the twinkle of their eyes. Congratulations.

Yes both William and Kate have a strong sense of family, love, duty and commitment.

Happy anniversary to HM and Prince Philip! 73 years together is wonderful, and their dedication to one another is quite inspiring.

It looks like the Cambridge kids did a wonderful job on their card. I wonder which one of them chose the stripped numbers. They are so sweet!

So here’s to Elizabeth and Philip, 73 years, a parcel of kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and the whole world later. May their anniversary be filled with joy and happiness!

Thank you so much for including this picture on your blog! It made me so happy when I saw it online earlier. The smile on Prince Philip’s face <3
Plans were just announced for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Praying that we will all get to enjoy the festivities, and chatting about what they all wear!
