Trooping the Colour LIVE COVERAGE

Good morning, and welcome to our live coverage of Trooping the Colour, also known as the King’s Birthday Parade. I will be live-posting for a few hours, and then writing the day’s post. The newest content will be at the top of this post.

10 AM: This last patch of photos will wrap up our live coverage, so I can start working on today’s blog post.

Additional family on the balcony included the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise Windsor, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and the Duke of Kent.

 9:18 AM: The Princess of Wales. 

A lovely photo by Mark Stewart of Princess Charlotte earlier today. 

9:02 AM: Members of the Household Division, including the regimental Irish Wolfhound mascot Turlough Mor.

This is the first time in more than 100 years that soldiers on parade were allowed to have beards.

8:46 AM: The Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal, and the Duke of Edinburgh.

 7:03AM: The Princess is wearing her Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Diamond Earrings ($6061), shown here as worn on a previous occasion. The earrings are done in “18ct yellow gold with pearl and diamonds… inspired by the Sicilian markets, which are full of the most beautifully ripe fruit and vegetables that overflow copiously from their baskets.”The Princess is carrying her Mulberry Clutch in black suede, a staple in her accessory collection. (This photo shows the style in leather, not the suede the Princess carries.)

6:50AM This appears to be the same dress worn to the pre-coronation luncheon at Buckingham Palace last year. The belt has been updated with a stripe and there is a tie at the neckline.

6:42 AM: The Princess exits the carriage at Horse Guards Parade. 

6:10AM: Here is our first photo of the Princess of Wales.

The Princess is wearing a Jenny Packham dress with a Philip Treacy hat. She is also wearing the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch as Colonel of the Irish Guards.

I’ve always been a fan, but today she topped it all! Her strength, dignity, calm, genuine smile, and brilliant up-cycle… The POW definitely had a “POW!” moment :-) God bless her remaining treatments.

Beautiful dress, I think she selected a re-wear to honor the King’s commitment to conservation and sustainability. Wonderful to see her and the children looking healthy.

I think this may be in my top 10 “What Kate Wore” looks! She is absolutely lovely, made more lovely by her inner strength.

I also went through six months of cancer treatments…the second half is more difficult than the first half. I hope these summer months brighten her days and give her a surge of energy!

Much like her first rapid appearances in puclic after having babies, I am astounded by how good she looks given she is undergoing cancer treatment. It is remarkable. That said, I can sense in her eyes and in the way she holds herself that she is of course, not 100%. I imagine it must have felt good to step back into that side of herself for a day and to have been there for her children. To the outfit, I find it a masterful repeat occasion, conveying all the right things for the moment. The bow, hat and her makeup must get special mention.

I'm usually SO eager to see her fashion choices, but today my first thought was just to see her smiling face. What a huge relief to see her glowing and out-and-about, feeling well enough for a day to do this.

The fashion is also perfect--so beautifully elegant, fresh, and classic.
