William and Kate had a busy schedule today, beginning with Palm Sunday services in Dunedin, New Zealand.
They were welcomed by representatives of Ngai Tahu, the primary Māori Iwi, or tribe, of South Island.
On the welcoming committee, 5-year-old Mataawhio Matahaere-vieint, who gave Kate a ‘hongi,’ the traditional Māori greeting.
The couple attended Palm Sunday services at the Cathedral of St. Paul.
Kate wore a wore a dress by Emilia Wickstead, the first time on the Tour we have seen her wearing a ‘local designer,’ or one with New Zealand ties. Ms. Wickstead was born in New Zealand, although she now lives in London, where her company is also based. If today’s dress looks familiar, that’s because it is. Many readers will recall the pink dress worn twice in May of 2012, once for one of the Queen’s garden parties (l), and just a few weeks before that for the Sovereigns’ Luncheon (r).
Kate accessorized with a clutch and matching heels from Emmy Shoes in the brand’s carbon grey color.
If interested in seeing styles from Emilia Wickstead’s fall 2014 collection, this post may be of interest. The designer has recently started e-commerce on her site, designs are also offered at Net-a-Porter and Matches Fashion.
Kate’s hat is by Jane Taylor. It is a bespoke piece, although somewhat similar to this style.
Kate wore her green amethyst earrings purchased at Kiki McDonough, and while it’s not highly visible in any of our photos, the Duchess also wore the diamond and platinum fern brooch loaned to her by the Queen.
After church they headed to Dunedin’s renowned rugby arena, Forsyth Barr Stadium, home to the famed All Blacks team.
They each coached a team playing “Rippa Rugby,” a contact-free game for children.
This young player looks *very* serious.
Kate changed into a sweater, the Deborah Waffle Knit (or Egg Knit) style by Jonathan Saunders.
The aqua, white, and blush sweater is 100% cotton, but it is sold out. It has been something of a staple for the designer, offered in a wonderful variety of colors over the years. This is the second time we have seen Kate wear something by Mr. Saunders; the first was in September of 2012 when the Duchess wore his Evelyn dress in the Solomon Islands.
Kate swapped her heels for her Mint Velvet grey suede sneakers.
After the rugby wrapped up William and Kate flew to Queenstown for the next appearance on the schedule, a wine tasting event at Amisfield Winery.
The couple was given a tour of the vineyards and winemaking operation.
More from the Otago Daily Times:
The Duke of Cambridge was more in the mood for drinking than talking when he visited Queenstown’s Amisfield winery today.
After a brief tour of the vineyard that took in not just the vines but an old showpiece Massey Ferguson tractor, Prince William remarked to co-owner John Darby: “We should probably stop the talking and start the drinking.”
Kate changed from the sweater to a shirt and added the Zara blazer worn earlier this week.
There seems to be a consensus Kate’s shirt is the by Gap, the Fitted Boyfriend Shirt. The short comes in a variety of colors, it is 100% cotton and retails for $49.95.
The Duchess changed to her trusty Corkswoon wedges ($398) by Stuart Weitzman for the Winery event.
The final event for the day was a whitewater rafting trip on the Shotover River.
You may not have been able to see that Kate’s lifevest is personalized, this should give you a better look.
Kate’s jacket is the Musto Br1 Channel style, and she also had her Ray-Ban folding Wayfarer sunglasses.
The excursion was aboard a Shotover Jet, akin to what we call ‘jet boats’ here in the US.

Am I the only woman in the world who can't stand glaring white sneakers and/or any color sneaker (especially black) with a white sole?

It's just so nice to read about noserubs, drooling babies and a gorgeous princely couple than sensational war accounts and shocking pictures of bombings and shootings!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if it's just my computer monitor or what, but it looks like she is wearing the Emilia Wickstead in teal with forest green shoes? The colors clash horribly IMO. However, I love the teal color on her, it's very flattering. All the other outfits are so, so perfect! What a tiring day it must have been with all the wardrobe changes and events! She and William both look so great and appropriate at each event.

Do you think the Wickstead dresses are really the same dress? Perhaps the pink one has been dyed aqua.

Ok, I am a bit confused. You can buy whatever you like and the designer is from the country you are visiting, and you buy the exact same dress? Now I have many pairs of the same shoes in many colors, but... I don't think this does justice to Emma Wickstead. I understand wearing the pink dress again, no problem there. But surely she could have found a different dress she liked to wear in NZ?
Am I the only one who thinks her budget might have been snipped? Or that those stories about Charles being tired of being upstaged seem to be true? Why else is this tour so sartorially dull? Canada was a WOW for me, as were some of the outfits in the Pacific, but something seems to have changed.
Thoughts?

It's not completely out of character for her to have multiples of the same item in different colors. She did this with the Amanda Wakeley Scuba dress that she has in both dark grey and oatmeal.

Did you see ElizaMo's suggestion that the pink dress was dyed teal? There is no way to know for sure, but this is a persuasive hypothesis that makes sense to me, and I'll choose to believe it unless we see the pink dress make an appearance again.
