The Princess of Wales wore Roland Mouret for Day 2 of the Boston trip. 
Crowds hoping to see the royals began gathering in the early morning hours outside of Greentown Labs in Somerville. 
A welcome greeting. 
One of those eager to see the royals was Henry Dynov-Teixeira, who is eight years old. (We’ll see Henry again.)
Greentown Labs is the largest clean-tech incubator in North America. A quick video as the royals arrived.

A Kensington Palace news release notes Greentown has “supported more than 500 companies since its founding that have collectively created more than 9,000 jobs and raised more than $4 billion in funding.”

There are more than 200 climate tech start-ups out of Greentown Labs. One of the five companies that will highlight its work for the Prince and Princess of Wales is Sublime Systems, which produced carbon-neutral cement.
“It really hit me when the calendar event landed in my in-box, like ‘Hold for Prince and Princess of Wales,'” said Leah Ellis, of Sublime Systems.
The royals met with representatives from some of the start-ups within the Greentown Labs community.

Inside, William and Kate asked questions about the lab and its history before meeting with five either current or former Greentown Labs-affiliated businesses:
- c16 Biosciences, the company searching for decarbonized alternatives for the consumer products supply chain.
- QuantAQ, which is producing internet-connected air quality sensors that can test for air pollutants.
- Open Ocean Robotics, which is creating solar-powered autonomous boats that provide real-time oceanic information. (Julie Angus, CEO and co-founder, showed the couple real-time data from a boat in the harbor of Victoria, British Columbia, where the company is headquartered. “Five knots? That’s quite quick,” an astonished William quipped while looking at a computer monitor. “It’s amazing it hasn’t capsized.”)
- Nth Cycle, a business working to decarbonize the critical mineral supply chain.
- Sublime Systems, a company behind low-carbon cement.
As the Prince and Princess left, they saw Henry.

William and Kate were so charmed by the sight of an eight year-old boy dressed as a Grenadier Guard during an engagement in Boston that they requested to meet the youngster.
Henry donned the costume after becoming obsessed with all-things royal following a trip to Buckingham Palace earlier this year, which included the chance to watch the changing of the guard.
Richard Palmer of The Express reports this was Henry’s Halloween costume.

His mum, Melissa Teixeira, added: ‘That was surreal, that was really spectacular. It was a real experience what a beautiful day in Somerville.
‘I think they were surprised to Henry as a British guard. The Princess is terrific with children of course.
‘She just gave him great compliments and he gave her compliments so it was a really nice experience.
‘Henry did get to mention his visit to London and he asked where George was and she shared that he was in school. She asked if he should be in school and he said yes – and laughed of course.’

The Prince and Princess’s next stop was at Roca, a non-profit focusing on young people considered at high risk for becoming the primary victims or drivers of violence.

Roca looks to address trauma and teach young people emotional regulation, giving them a buffer between their thoughts and their actions, she explained.
“The key is to create a safe environment for them to learn about and practice this emotional regulation, because we believe that once you can sort of heal the trauma, you free the person,” Baldwin said.
Roca has results to back up this approach: In Massachusetts, four out of five young men who came to Roca stopped engaging in violence, and 70% of young men did not recidivate within three years, according to the organization’s website.

Roca aims to reduce levels of trauma, violence and incarceration, create sustained employment, and improve parenting. They also work closely with critical public systems such as police officers, judges, correction officers and child protection services to help build policies and practices that produce better outcomes for young people who are the primary victims or drivers of violence.
They spoke to several of the men and women the organization had helped, and met with leaders to learn about their intervention model and spend time with women in the young mothers’ programme, current members and alumni of the young men’s programme.
The royals spent time with young mothers in the charity’s crèche area.

Kate Middleton left one young royal fan in tears of joy today after she and Prince William embarked on an impromptu walkabout during the latest leg of their charm offensive tour in Boston – which has been dramatically overshadowed by controversy.
One particularly emotional fan broke down in tears when Kate approached her, before taking the Princess’s hand and thanking her for ‘everything she has done’.
‘You’ve been so lovely, thank you for everything,’ the woman said while holding Kate by the hand, having burst into tears when she saw the mother-of-three making her way over to her.

Now for our look at what Kate wore for the day’s engagements.
She was in a plum or aubergine pantsuit that Caroline Parr of The Daily Mail reports is a Roland Mouret design. The jacket features a single-breasted silhouette, angled flap pockets, peaked lapels, and a slight flare at the cuff. Middleton Maven points out the trousers are very much like the Roland Mouret Axon trousers the Princess has previously worn. That style features vertical pockets, a side zipper and flat front.

Many noticed that the Prince’s sweater coordinated with the Princess’s suit. 
The pink blouse remains UFO at this point.
The Princess carried her Chanel Nouvelle Flap Bag in calfskin with Enamel Handle, first noted when carried during a March 2017 visit to Paris.
Her heels could be the Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps the Princess has worn for several years. 
She also repeated her Daniella Draper Luxury Maxi Cupid Hoop Earrings ($3100).

I think the tie neck blouse is an old Chanel blouse. I have the same . I had it about ten years ago. That would make sense with the Chanel purse.

Fantastic look. I think soft pinks look best when contrasted with burgundy tones, so I particularly love this combination of blouse and suit. The handbag provides a nice additional texture that helps to break up the smooth lines of the rest of the outfit. The Princess looks elegant and professional. The matching with William is charming; this colour suits both of them so well.

Love the colors, purse, shoes, but oh dear - I consistently dislike the bow at her neck. It seems to age her into a different era of a matronly look. She is typically so well-dressed in flattering styles, except for this one.

I think the blouse might be from Winser London. They’re not offering the pale pink any longer, but there’s a picture of it on their website. Kate wore it in the pale blue a while ago.

Roca sounds like a fantastic non-profit. I’m a special ed teacher and work with kids with mental health disorders in an in-patient/partial hospitalization program and I see first hand how important emotional regulation skills can be for breaking the cycle of generational trauma. It’s hard to undo the damage that’s done in early childhood but the results of careful, consistent developmental repair work are literally life-saving if adults are willing to patiently put in the time to earn a child’s trust, and weather the “big” feelings and big behavior. I’m so glad this non-profit exists and has a high rate of success.
As for the suit- I’m not a fan of colored pants suits- I don’t know why. However, the fit is immaculate and Kate looks elegant, professional and stunning. Roland Mouret always seems to suit her. The blouse with the suit is an unexpected touch. I think the matchy purse is maybe too much maroon for my taste, but that’s just me.
