Once again demonstrating her fashion and diplomacy skills, the Duchess selected a sleek green dress by Diane von Furstenberg for last night’s social scene at a reception welcoming the couple to Los Angeles.

The Duchess is wearing DVF’s Maja dress in 100% silk.

As described on the DVF site:

“The flowy and graceful Maja dress is perfect for work or play. Notable is the back – with its sensual deep V-neck and line of flat, gold-brushed buttons.”

The green was nice spot of color.

It is a familiar silhouette for Kate, we have seen similar lines on several dresses worn previously, including the current tour.  The dress remains available online at DVF at $398, as well as other retailers.

Kate fashion fans know she is fond of the designer, wearing DVF desses previously.  Kate’s handbag was also by DVF, it is the label’s Leopard-print Snakeskin Clutch.

The bag was (note past tense) available at Net-a-Porter but it is sold out. Here is how it is described:

Clutch has a detachable gold chain shoulder strap, a gold branch clasp fastening at top, an internal pouch pocket, a designer plaque at interior and is fully lined in satin. Designer color: Popcarn Black & Blush

We also noted the return of that link bracelet believed to be a gift from Camilla, the one with the charm jewelry wiz Ayvee discovered.

Identifying Kate’s shoes remains a challenge. Many comments have been left suggesting these are the Rupert Sanderson shoes worn in Charlottetown on PEI; unfortunately Rupert Sanderson verified it is not their shoe.

For those keeping score, this is the second day on the tour Kate has worn four different ensembles, the other being July 4.  Special thanks to WKW Facebook friends Cari and Misty for their skills in rapidly locating the dress and the bag, these ladies know their fashion!

  1. I looove that green dress on Kate (though maybe not so much against the green grass)! The hue is sooo pretty and bold, and i definitely don’t think it makes her look bad in the least bit. (totally just bought some dvf flats from couturecandy.com, btw- steals on some dvf items right now)

  2. What is the gorgeous pink jacket that Kate is wearing on the cover of US Weekly this week? Where can I buy it?

  3. I think Kate looks stunning in the green dress! Also, is she wearing stockings in most pics? I am curious as to what kind she is wearing? They look so natural!

  4. Forgive me, please, if this has been asked and answered…..who makes the black clutch she is carrying from the February picture taken after her lunch with Camilla?

    Many thanks!

  5. Hi all,

Is there a better picture of the earrings that Kare wore to the California reception? What brand are they and where can I purchase them? Thanks.

  6. I think the D of C is wearing Jenny Packham to the Santa Barbara Polo Match! I’d love the know who the shoe designer is. It is the first time this tour the D of C has worn anything approaching a sandal. Love the look!
The D of C is always simple and elegant. The other thing I’ve noticed is that she really knows how to mix and match her pieces – the true measure of a great wardrobe.

    • The sandal that she is wearing is by, wait for it…L.K. Bennet! they’re the “Silver” sandals in Taupe!

  7. matronly. boring. too old for her.

even she can’t make this dress look interesting or good and i don’t expect it to sell out.

why oh why did she change out of her blue dress – i loved that dress, and the way she looked in it!

on the other hand, i’m not surprised the purse has sold out – kicky and fun.

  8. The dress is cute, but the color is not right for Her, for her skin. Bad color for a party on the grass. It would have been better to use the green for the impressive arrival, and the “Peridot” dress for no confusion between the leaves.

    • Gosh, I don’t know. When you look at the pictures of those attending the “gala”…she is the one standing out in the crowd with her green dress. I thought she looked great in bold colors when ever she has worn them during the trip; I loved the purple Issa on her too.

    • The green color is much more muted and deep colored if you go onto other websites.

  9. The dress is cute, but the color is not right for Her.

  10. Catherine was very smart to take only her hair dresser on this trip. She can dress herself, with William’s help, of course, but with such long hair (of which she is proud, I’m sure), she needed someone to make sure it looked stunning at all times. Which, of course, it did. Smart lady….but, of course, we already knew that.

  11. princess kate can pull anything off. she could make a trashbad look stylish, her beauty is so effortless and i admire her so much. god bless her and her equally admirable prince :)

  12. Doesn’t the model version look like it is cut much lower in the back than the dress Kate is wearing? I do see the buttons in the back though. Love the color on her.

  13. The dress looks fabulous on Kate and not so good in the drawing. She makes the dress!

I am now following your blog from Seattle. We were in London just 2 days after the wedding and
picked up some of the wedding excitement including the blocks and blocks of lines to get into
Westminster Abbey to see the post-wedding flowers.
