As promised, we have results from both year-end polls seeking your opinion on Kate’s informal dresses, suits or separates from the last year.

In our first poll we asked about what Kate wore on the North American tour, the look you liked most is….

Canadian Heritage

Erdem’s Cecile dress from the designer’s pre-spring 2012 collection. Your second favorite frock is the purple Issa seen at the Canada Day concert.

Rounding out your top three choices, the Jenny Packham Kate wore to the charity polo match.

Here is a look at the results for the top three finishers, a total of 6133 votes were cast in this poll.

The dress receiving the fewest votes was the Issa Bird print Kate has owned for several years.

In our second survey on dresses we included a few styles left out of the tour poll, along with other dresses and suits seen on the Duchess in the last year.

Your number one pick is the Reiss Shola dress worn in May for William and Kate’s meeting with the Obamas.

Coming in a close second, the Alexander McQueen sailor dress seen on Prince Edward Island during the tour.

The distance between second and third place was even closer, only ten votes separate the McQueen sailor dress from the Reiss Peacock Kate wore for the Epsom Derby.

There were 5476 votes in the poll, you can see how close the top three choices are in this graphic.

The dress liked the least was the Mulberry Shirt Dress worn in November to the Buckingham Palace press reception in advance of the Queen’s Jubilee.

This bring us to our final poll on Kate’s short dresses, asking you to select your ‘favorite favorite,’ we’ll leave the voting open for one week.

At this point I still hope to do a handbag poll, but remain undecided about one on Kate’s shoes, in large part because of my inability to keep the shoes straight that are so similar in my mind.  I know most everyone enjoys the polls, but there is also a significant amount of time invested in each one. If you have thoughts about these two (handbags and/or shoes) or others you would like to see, just me let me know by leaving a comment. :)

  1. The cream peacock dress is ace – it’s beautiful. I adore it – so much so I bought one myself. Love!

  2. Kate and William adopt a puppy! I love the photo of them on the beach with the puppy. Kate looks so in love. I just adore her with William

  3. She looks so lovely in the Erdem dress!

  4. Firstly, I would love to see a poll on Bags.
And I would also like to thank -you for such a wonderful site. I thoroughly enjoy the moment a new post appears.

  5. Handbag poll! And someone else mentioned a fascinator poll — I think that’s a great idea! Others have noted her shoes are quite similar styles, and I agree, which may not make that poll as much fun.

  6. Sounds like Erdem and Issa truly are the best brands for the future queen. I notice that several of her looks voted as “most favorite” are from either brand.

  7. My favorite Kate looks are the ones where she has a defined waist. In my opinion, she’s too skinny to wear straight dresses with no waists!

Obviously, Kate doesn’t agree with me! Oh well.

  8. A very comparable Reiss Lola dress is on sale for $132.00

  9. Kate’s boots are NOT Aquatalia ‘Cookie’ they are Russell and Bromley ‘Charge it’ they are still available in the sale :)

  10. Fascinating. Please note the hairstyles in the above 6 photos. Only 2 of them have her “signature” hair. Continued thanks for your delightful and informative site – quite refreshing.

    • Very interesting about the “signature” hair… I didn’t even really notice until you said that. I’ve noticed the HUGE difference in her before (pre-engagement) and after-engagement overall appearance — but, good pick-up on the hair!!!

I’m still amazed by the before/after. She looks so polished now.

      Love Kate!!!!!!

  11. Bags yes – there is a huge variety and I liked some but others not so much.

Don’t worry about the shoes. So many are very similar in style, and they are not so much on show if Kate is wearing an evening dress.

These polls were a great idea. I’m really enjoying them. Thanks :)

  12. The Shola and close second being Jenny Packham’s!
Shame the Blue Pleated Zara dress (after the wedding), Zara’s lace tulip dress and even the Temperley’s Moraiah in ivory didn’t make it! I loved them also…

  13. I would love to see a hat, fascinator, and handbag poll. I think we all know that the nude pumps would win the shoe contest … haha Maybe not, though – some of the results on the gowns surprised me! The short dresses, however, seemed right in line with what everyone seemed to already think.

This one was VERY difficult … I ended up voting for the Erdem Cecile, because it’s just perfect. But all my favs came in the running! That sailor dress is so darn pretty.

  14. thank you so much for your hard work!!! these polls were great fun!

  15. I think the polls are really fun, but the shoes are definitely not worth the trouble. WKW is so great – makes being a Kate fan so much more fun.

  16. Love the idea of a poll on fav clutch bags. I was also hoping to see one on Kate’s casual look.

Keep up the great work! This site is my secret little pleasure.

  17. I understand skipping a poll about shoes, since the Duchess tends to favor classic, conservative shoes that are usually the same style (closed toe pumps, anyone?). But I think a favorite handbag poll would be loads of fun!

I had a hard time choosing between the Erdem Cecile and the Jenny Packham. I feel like the Erdem makes Kate look stunning, but the Packham is just a more interesting piece. I ended up picking the Packham. I also adore the Peacock dress, but I never voted for it because I never saw any pics of Kate wearing it where the front of the frock wasn’t covered by her coat.

  18. I’d enjoy the shoes poll just because I love the boots even moreso than the heels – and handbags would be fun too – but I completely understand it may not be worth the amount of time it takes you to do them. An overall favorite look, chosen from the favorites, would be fun (and more efficient for you!)

  19. I understand why shoes wouldn’t work but a handbag one might be fun! Could there be an overall poll of the other polls winners? Like fav overall look?

    • I second the idea about best overall look. Another idea might be to put together a poll including all the faves and ask people to vote about what piece they would most like to own. It would be a nice way to pay homage to Kate’s fashion sense… so many people say that the reason they love her style is that she frequently wears pieces that would work in their own lives. Plus, I think it would generate some interesting comments about what people chose and why.

      • YES I agree completely … what I like best on Kate and what would be practical for me to own are two VERY different things!

        • So true!

If I could pick any piece, it would be that Katherine Hooker coat worn for the lifeboat christening in Anglesey… As soon as I get out of graduate school and possess a disposable income of more than $5 a month, I am buying myself a Katherine Hooker coat. For now, I just log on to the website and drool…

          • The first thing I bought out of grad school was an expensive briefcase, but a Katherine Hooker coat might have been the second, if she’d been around back then.
