Jenny Packham Runway Show, The Sebago Bala *Will* Be Back, & More Updates

We have a look at runway styles for both this fall and next spring from a Kate favorite, Jenny Packham. But first we want to share several quick updates on key Kate wardrobe pieces.

Good news for fans of the Sebago Bala boat shoe, especially for US shoppers. The phrase that pays in this case is “Available Early January” for the Taupe/White color combination.

Kate wore her pair multiple times on the Canadian leg of the couple’s North American tour this summer.

Those interested in purchasing the shoes can sign up to be notified of their availability, the shoes are $80 USD.

Next, an update on that coveted Ruffle Jacket by BCBG Max Azria.  Several WKW Facebook friends have discovered they could purchase the piece at BCBG Outlet stores, our thanks to Shelly for letting us know she had a great experience at the Cypress, Texas store. Below we show the piece in Shelly’s photo on the left, and in an eBay auction currently underway on the right.

Brittney also had an outstanding customer experience at the Cypress store, as did Anna Maria, all of the ladies highly recommend Daniel, the manager, saying he was *very* helpful. The store telephone number is 281-256-7439 for anyone interested in getting touch. The style number generously shared on FB is NIO4B781, several ladies also found the jacket at the Gaffney, SC store, others have bought it from the Dawsonville, Georgia store. Click here for BCBG’s store locator.

The Links of London Bubble Stiletto Earrings are also available again on the US site.

Wrapping up the updates, the DVF Maja in Green is shown available in all sizes at Diane von Furstenburg.

Next, a look at some of Jenny Packham’s designs for both fall and spring. Below we share five styles from the fall collection, several would work for the upcoming Boodles Boxing Ball on October 1st, if Kate attends the event again this year. She has gone almost every year (several of her more notable Issa gowns were first seen at this function), I’m just not sure if the protocol pooh-bahs would bless the future Queen of England sitting ringside (or elsewhere) at an amateur boxing match. On the flip side of the debate, Kate is a patron of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, the Ball is a major fundraiser for the organization.

Jenny Packham Fall 2011

Before we look at next spring’s frocks, a refresher on previous Packham dresses Kate has worn.

Before each of the major Fashion Weeks designers are asked by the industry trade publications what their inspiration is for the upcoming season’s creations; Jenny Packham says for Spring 2012 hers was from the Rolling Stones song “She’s a Rainbow”.

Have you seen her all in gold, Like a queen in days of old, She shoots colors all around, Like a sunset going down.

With that in mind, here are two dresses from this morning’s runway show in New York.

I could see the Duchess in either of the frocks above, although I confess to being partial to that icy blue. From today’s Women’s Wear Daily (subscription required) story on the show:

Known for her whispery chiffon dresses that mirror her collection of bridal gowns, Jenny Packham delivered a lineup of ethereal beauties that floated down the runway in a sorbet palette of lime green, geranium and peach and accented with Chantilly lace or sprinkled with pretty floral embroideries.

Three shorter frocks, all with exquisite handwork.

Of these final three I only really see Kate in the metallic brown on the left, for some reason the yellow gown is reminiscent of a negligee, no?

Also showing today, Diane von Furstenburg. To see styles from that show visit The Cut or Style or DVF’s Facebook page.

Next on the the schedule is London Fashion Week, here are the shows and dates most relevant to Kate’s style:

We’ll bring you reports on those shows as well.

I know you love that icy blue, but I have to say I love the red that is beside it. Even though the neck line plunges, I think the color would be gorgeous on Kate. I have the same color of hair that she does and I've found red is a color I can pull off, so I'm sure it would look fabulous on her.

I think that Kate would look fabulous in all of the dresses. I also think that she should wear some things from Zac Posen's new show, lots of tailored lines with modest hemlines and beautiful details. I can see her in either the blush or light yellow/ cream evening gowns from his new show.

Is the entire royal family becoming more fashionable? I must mention the very sharp suit worn by The Princess Royal on a recent appearance shown in the photo gallery at The British Monarchy website. Beautifully fitted jacket with Nehru style collar and double breasted button detail tapering to a point at the waist, smart shoulder bag, and cool sunglasses, a good look for her! She's been one of my favorite royals for a long time and is, I think, the hardest working woman in Britain, making hundreds of personal appearances every year.

And Happy Birthday to Prince Harry, turning 27 today, September 15.

I received the Bala in light grey today. I think they run big. I'm normally a 6.5 which i ordered; but I'm returning and will order a 6 in the taupe when available. Also, although it looks like the laces aren't tie laces on the site, they do tie as you can see in the close up of Kate's feet.

I would LOVE to see Kate in one of the red dresses. She can pull off just about every color, but I always think she looks great in vibrant hues.
