After attending both ANZAC Day services in Canberra it was time to head for the airport and home. The Duchess had young Prince George well in hand.

George’s nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, was deployed and carrying the precious cargo.
Is it possible George wants to stay?
Prime Minister Tony Abbott and the Governor-General’s wife, Lady Cosgrove, can be seen taking part in the formal goodbye.
The look on Prince George’s face in the photo above is priceless.
If only we knew what Prince George was looking at!
On its Facebook page, Media Mode shared this photo of the family changing planes in Sydney.
Kate wore the Michael Kors coat she had on for the National ANZAC Day service at the War Memorial. This shot from earlier in the day offers a good look at the coat from the back.
As well as her Alexander McQueen heels.
We’ll be back in a day or two with a much more comprehensive post, including wardrobe hits and misses, as well as other observations

Hello, thank you so much for the tour coverage, it has been wonderful.
I do have a quick question regarding Kateβs navy suede pumps. Does she also own a Prada pair, or are these the same one now identified as Alexander McQueen?
Thank you so much!

Thanks for all the coverage Susan! It has been such a pleasure to follow! I thought that this blue outfit was beautiful.
I hope you are planning on doing a tour fashion poll like you have done for previous tours!
George is precious. I can’t get over His Royal Dourness. Kate was, of course, gorgeous at every turn. Even her flops were stunning. I can’t wait for more.
Thank you, as always, for your comprehensive posts. Kate is an incredible style icon!

Just wanted to add my thanks for all the hard work you’ve done covering this tour!
Could you summarize her shoes, handbags, coats, pants, and dresses? I think it would be neat to see how she’s coordinated the same pieces with various outfits so as to use what she already has, etc
Brava on so many levels including the “black bordered” photos? Do you have more than 24 hours in your day?!? thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!
So many thanks for your wonderful, detailed tour coverage! I miss waking up and going to WKW for my fix first thing these last two weeks, and I’m sure I’m not alone.
I have so enjoyed watching the family on the tour and finding CopyKate’s of her outfits. Does anyone know when their next official engagement is scheduled?
Reading WKW has been such an enjoyable experience on this Royal Tour. Thank you!
I read the other day that the Duke and Duchess will be taking on extra duties in the coming months, so more outfits to look forward to. But at least there’ll be a break for Susan to have a well-earned rest π
I just love Kate’s coat. It’s my favourite piece – that and the ‘banana’ dress. What intrigues me about the coat is the lapels and the direction of the stripes. Am I being unreasonable in supposing they would look better if balanced? Maybe I’ve been looking at clothes too much and need to return to ‘normal’ life? π
Many thanks for the diligent and entertaining coverage of the tour. It’s been great to see such high quality photos and commentary and the discussions provoked have been very interesting and informative too.
Thanks for all your hard work on this blog! I love that you not only highlight her outfits but also educate us on the events and causes surrounding it. I also love your professionalism and respect for Kate!
Thank you for your hard work and the amazing coverage of this trip. It was fun coming to this site every morning to see what the Duchess was wearing. Just excellent all around. I hope you can get some rest for a few days as I’m sure the Duke and Duchess will be doing. I’m still guessing they won’t be at that wedding in Nashville next weekend (or was it this weekend?) but you never know.
I love these pics, georgie is simply deliciuous. And kate’s outfit is one of the best of the entire tour.
Thank you Susan for the wonderful accurate and exhaustive reporting the tour, your blog is a bible for us kate fanatics
I have enjoyed all the pictures and updates from this trip. Thanks so much.
Such beautiful photos of a beautiful family! Prince George is just a beautiful baby, and not because he’s royalty LOL. He truly is just an absolute doll. Thank you again for all the wonderful coverage of the tour. Your blog has helped me keep up with it even with the confusing time difference! I’m looking forward to your next posts about the tour, etc.
Elizabeth π
Thank-you for such a fantastic job covering the Royal Tour! It was such a treat reading your blog every morning for the past 2 weeks. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the back view of the coat! It’s been an amazing tour and such fun to keep up with it all via WKW. Thanks again for all your hard work.
I agree! This coat dress is fantastic and I love that we got to see the back as well π It is definitely one of my favorite outfits of the whole tour π
oh my, ha ha I’m also blocked at the Telegraph π
Excellent send-off post… β₯
Thank you so much for your tireless posting over the last two weeks Susan. You must be exhausted! I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
In the “what is he looking at” photo, he is looking at his father. It’s clear in the photo just prior to it.
Prince George especially looks like Michael Middleton there.
Baby George, in one of earlier posts, reminds me of Lady Diana…I don’t know where exactly…
Thank you for the wonderful, sophisticated, and unbiased coverage of the Duchess’s fashion. I have become such a fan of WKW due to the tour. Thank you!!
Lady Cosgrave! Her Husband is Sir Peter Cosgrave, knighted upon becoming GG.
The duchess should be wearing British designers (or designers from the country she is visiting). The British royal family really represents “brand Britain”, and should do that with their clothing. There is so much beautiful British clothing. I don’t remember seeing Diana wearing foreign designers when she was “on duty”. Kate should follow Diana’s example. I’m American, but I don’t love seeing Kate in American-designed clothing. Just doesn’t seem right.
I have to disagree even though I respect your opinion. A lot of the duchess outfits on this tour have been from British designers and she has also worn 3 local designers (dress, clutch and hat) so she has shown her respect representing her country and the visiting counties. I don’t see why she shouldn’t be allowed to also wear other designers while making official appearances, taking into consideration she will be in the public eye for decades to come. I understand the citizens of New Zealand and Australia were wishing she has worn more local designers but the fact she didn’t doesn’t make less less respectful of the visiting counties. Finally, I don’t see why she should be following Diana’s footsteps in that respect, she should follow her own (as much as the protocol allows her). Nonetheless, your are entitled to your option and as I said I respect that. I’m simply expressing mine.
Agreed. I think Kate has been doing a pretty good job at being as “Bristish” as possible in every occasion. I think part of the reason people tirelessly compare Kate with Diana is because their role in the royal family. Undoubtably Lady Diana has created an unforgettable image on many generations and yes she shouldn’t be forgotten. However tt’s time for the young Duke and Duchess to build something with their own names. π At same time, I don’t expect people will stop comparing them side by side. That’s just how things are. I can’t do anything about it. LOL
Catherine needs to find her own way as wife of the future king, and surely she needs to be as comfortable as possible while in the public eye. In my opinion she’s nothing like Diana, and I can see no reason why she should do as Diana did. They are two very different, distinct individuals.
I can’t imagine Diana would ever have worn a Β£35 Hobbs dress – at least, I don’t remember she wore anything from a High Street store while on tour π I don’t remember her recycling her clothes either.
As for what Catherine ‘should’ do – I don’t see why there’s any ‘should’ about her clothing. What Catherine wears is completely up to her (although the Queen might have some input). It’s her life and her choices, whether or not she is a public figure.
She will make mistakes – that is, what she considers are mistakes and not necessarily what we think are mistakes – and will modify her choices accordingly. Personally, I think she’s doing great.
Totally disagree with you. The Duchess should wear what she feels good wearing and that is what she did. Saying she should “follow Diana” is just ridiculous. Diana has been dead for 16 years; no one needs to follow her. Besides, Diana wore plenty of non-Brit designs, especially Versace.
I do think it is important for the Duchess to showcase the national fashion industry when on public duty and it’s also diplomatic to pay tribute to the country visited but I think by and large she did that. There were a few American designers thrown in but the big occasions were mostly UK big hitters like McQueen. As others have pointed out Diana wore quite a lot of non British designs especially in her later years.
Little George got teeth…how cute…
Thank you for covering this tour so well. It has been pleasure to read your posts each morning.
I love this coat and the hat she wore with it earlier that day. Blue is definitely my favorite color on the Duchess.
Squirmy George looks like he is certainly full of personality. π I’m excited to watch him grow up.
Hello, thank you so much for the tour coverage, it has been wonderful.
I do have a quick question regarding Kate’s navy suede pumps. Does she also own a Prada pair, or are these the same one now identified as Alexander McQueen?

in the Sydney morning herald photos you can see that Tony Abbott is trying so hard to interact with the baby and George is clearly terrified of him. hehe!
I really hate that hat she wore but I love the Michael kors dress she is wearing. I’m not sure why she didnt wear more Australian designers though. I love baby George he is so adorable in his outfit. Thanks for all the great coverage Susan.
That shorter lady with Tony Abbot is the Governor General’s wife, Mrs Cosgrove.. it is not Margie Abbot π Margie is REALLY tall… Mrs Cosgrove is VERY short lol π
Thank you! π
