Kate In Dolce and Gabbana for Wimbledon Men’s Final

Kate went with a vibrant yellow dress at Wimbledon today.

The Duke and Duchess were at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club for the Gentlemen’s Singles Final.

Before the match, they met former champions, including Rod Laver.

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic was taking on Kevin Anderson of South Africa.

Below you see Kate and William with Prime Minister Theresa May.

Another look.

She always seems to have a terrific time at the event.

As ever, Kate’s expressions during Wimbledon are fun to watch.

And the couple looked like they really enjoyed watching the match.

The royal box was filled with notable names, including PR Executive Hannah Bagshawe and her husband, Eddie Redmayne.

Actor Hugh Grant speaking with Ms. Bagshawe.

From left to right, Saadiya Khan, wife of London Mayor Sadiq Khan; the mayor; the Duke of Kent, with his back to the camera.

Benedict Cumberbatch.

Emma Watson and Luke Evans. Seated behind Mr. Evans (with the water bottle), Tom Holland, perhaps best known for his roles in the Spiderman movies.

Behind Prince William, actor Tom Hiddleston.

Katherine Jenkins and her husband, actor/artist Andrew Levitas.

Not everyone was able to watch from Centre Court; these are some of the spectators on the hill enjoying the match on the big screen.

The line umpires arrive at Centre Court.

It was another warm and humid day.

The Ball Girls and Ball Boys.

The temperature was 85° when the match started.

And both players were coming off brutal semi-finals matches. More from ESPN:

Djokovic and Anderson won the two longest semifinals in Wimbledon history to get to Sunday’s title match. Anderson played for more than 6½ hours before edging John Isner 26-24 in the fifth set Friday. Djokovic needed 5 hours, 15 minutes to get past Rafael Nadal in a match that ended Saturday.

Mr. Djokovic was the victor.

A quick video.

The reaction from Jelena Djokovic, wife of the champion (in white), and the couple’s son, Stefan.

It was his fourth Wimbledon title and thirteenth Grand Slam victory. It’s difficult to see, but the Duke of Kent is just to the left of Mr. Djokovic, after presenting him with the trophy. The president of the AELTC presents the trophies; the Duke is president.

Here is a 1:30 video with Kate and William congratulating the champion.

Now for what Kate wore, a knee-length fitted dress from Dolce and Gabbana.

It is from the brand’s Resort 2017 collection. Made in a rayon/acetate crepe, it features a fitted bodice, round neckline, concealed back zipper and ruffled sleeves. As of 11 am, it is only available at YOOX in a US size 4 ($1050). Below, a look at the dress from the back.  Once again, our thanks to Michelle of Perths Fashion for sharing the dress information!

Kate carried the handbag seen yesterday, the Miss Sicily style.

It remains available at My Theresa ($1695) as well as at SSense ($1695).

In the photo of Kate from the back, you can see she is also carrying what appears to be a vinyl cosmetic case or pouch. The color looks like it could be Wimbledon’s purple; it may be something given to guests.

UPDATE: There are a few photos that show Kate’s feet, and it looks like she did wear the Gianvito Rossi pumps in ‘praline’ suede ($675) seen yesterday. (We show them in a photo from yesterday’s match.) They are available at Saks in a so-so mix of sizes, and also at My Theresa, where there is a very limited selection of sizes ($675). UPDATE 2: It does not look like Kate was wearing the Praline pumps, but a nude point-toe shoe that we can’t identify. NOTE: The consensus in comments is that Kate was *not* wearing the Rossis. Here is a video Middleton Maven discovered that shows Kate’s feet.

Quick video: Kate is pictured chatting with Rod Laver before the match earlier today.
I see she wore beige pumps with her dress. pic.twitter.com/naHWroLkS6

It looks like the Duchess wore the sunglasses we first saw yesterday.

They are the Ray-Ban New Rubber Youngster style in gradient brown. The frame almost looks black in some photos, but when lightened you can see the brown color variations in the matte rubber frame.

It looks like the style is still available at Amazon ($143), but sold out at Shopbop.

Kate wore a necklace not seen for some time, the three pieces from the Asprey Woodland Charms collection.

It looked like she had on a new (to us) pair of earrings.

The ever-savvy Michelle wonders if they might also be from Asprey. UPDATE #1: Michelle thinks it’s possible the earrings are the same design as this Oak Leaf Bracelet from Asprey.  UPDATE #2: Michelle’s theory was spot-on, Asprey confirms Kate was wearing their earrings. Thank you to KatiesRoyalLove on Twitter for sharing the confirmation.

UPDATE #3 JULY 21: It turns out Kate was wearing the Asprey Oak Leaf Small Hoop Earrings ($6450). The earrings are 18K yellow gold with pavé diamonds; they are now available on the jeweler’s site.

The Duchess wore the citrine cocktail ring most recently seen at Meghan and Harry’s wedding. Thank heaven Sara mentioned the ring on Twitter and Maryrose sent a DM on Facebook or I might have completely overlooked it.

Kate had on her Cartier Ballon Bleu stainless steel wristwatch.

She also wore the purple/green members ribbon that the 375 members of the AELTC may wear. (If you scroll up and look at the photo of Kate in sunglasses, you’ll see Rod Laver’s tie is in the Wimbledon colors.)

We’ll see you in a few days with a new post!

I love both Wimbledon looks, but this one really knocks it out of the (proverbial) tennis court! The dress is perfectly tailored, the details are so subtle and understated, but that color is just outstanding. I love that on the first outing, her neutral dress was beautiful without detracting any attention away from her companion, the DoS. But this time, she knows all eyes are on her and she embraces it with a screaming yellow dress. Very much taking a cue from the Queen, who also chooses colors to stand out in a crowd.

Her hair is at its most gorgeous. One day when people are able to alter their genes and grow any hair they want, we’ll all have Princess Kate hair. 😉

Also after seeing the cut and fit of both these Wimbledon looks, can we please put to rest all the comments about her post-partum figure?! She is not dealing with a baby-body. It’s just her body…she is a three-time mother and may also be nursing, so yes, there will be changes to her shape. But there’s just no need to imply that something is wrong with her figure because she “just had a baby” or that her clothes are cut to be “forgiving.”

I have loved seeing all these different looks from her lately.

I love Kate in this yellow color. It’s the second time I’ve seen her pull it off and it’s a very difficult color to wear without looking jaundice. Somehow she looks fantastic in this color and it always reminds me of when William told her she looked like a banana during the Australian tour. Sorry Wills, but the yellow is a keeper!

Lol, did William say that? That’s hilarious, not because it’s true, but because it shows what a fun and loving relationship they have. Too cute!! The length and style of the dress keep her from looking like a banana 🙂

I love this dress, the colour and the sleeve are perfection. My only criticism of the outfit is the accessories, I think a summer sandal would have been better than the suede pump. However, if a pump is required by dress code a different colour may have been a better choice, a navy or a tan accessory would have been an amazing contrast.

It’s been a while since Kate wore anything I’ve well and truly coveted, but I’d love to have this dress in my closet! It’s such a flattering style, it fits her perfectly, and I feel like it strikes the perfect balance of polished and youthful. And it seems we’ve yet to find a color she doesn’t look good in. I probably would have preferred a more delicate shoe with it, but the dress is so lovely I can overlook that. Definitely on the short list of her best daytime looks, imo.

That is quite the eclectic group of people in the Royal Box. Yesterday I checked to see what the dress code is to sit there. It is suits, shirts, and ties for men, which was why I thought Meghan’s look was a bit too casual. It also said, that people are asked not to wear hats, so as to not block the view of people seated behind them. Meghan complied and didn’t put on the hat she was carrying. But I see that Benedict Cumberbatch, Emma Watson and the man to Emma’s right are wearing hats. Also, in the photo with Emma, are several men without ties. So obviously some people don’t follow the rules. In 2015, Lewis Hamilton was not allowed to sit in the Royal Box, because he was not wearing a jacket and tie.

It’s such a delight to have Kate greet us in sunny yellow, at her natural and unaffected best. Her D&G frock is a well informed choice, embracing a classic sheath shape topped with some feminine twists; a forgiving high waistline, sweet scoop neck, and the loose frill sleeves she has favoured since she began married life.

The casual approach to detail lends her valuable accessibility as she once again reworks the neutral accessory of that gorgeous handbag, which neither matches nor clashes with dark polka dots yesterday or an intense shade of yellow today.

Something of the same approach applies to the modest pieces of jewellery she favours, each with its own delicate character but otherwise unrelated, not picked out for exacting coordination. The pendant charms are particularly endearing for their personal reference to the coat of arms given to her family and encapsulate her balance of the formal and the familiar. Those earrings look mouthwatering. Thank you Kate.

I have drooled over that necklace/charms for years—and now the earrings are also drool worthy and perfect for the occasion. Hair, makeup and sunglasses = perfection.

I just wrote a comment about yesterday’s look that the hem was too long. Today’s hem is exactly where it needs to be for both the proportion of the dress and to be most flattering to the wearer.

I don’t love yellow, but the duchess looks fantastic in this shade. I love the fluttery sleeves and fit. It might be a “skosh” tight under the bust but I will assume this is due to a changing figure on a postpartum (and likely nursing) mother. Thank goodness we couldn’t see the shoes—I am sure she wore the nude pumps from yesterday and that would spoil the look IMO, so I am going to pretend she has on a great pair of wedges and let it go.

It’s wrinkled. It was wrinkled getting out of the car. It was wrinkled walking to the seats. It was even more creased leaving. Kate is one of the best known public figures in the world, and yet she repeatedly wears wrinkled clothing. The solution is to do a crumple test of the fabric, and if it crushes in your hand, choose something else. . You can also go up a size.

This is the type of dress I would love to see her i n more often, as opposed to yesterday’s stuffier look. I suspect she is wearing the nude pumps I hate, but as I can’t see them I will pretend she is wearing sandals.

I think this may be my favorite of Kate’s Wimbledon outfits, and I love all the pictures of her surrounded by people dressed in blue, white, and tan!

Because this is Kate, I’m almost certain she’s wearing a nude heel (most likely her Gianvito Rossi ones, given the pink bag). That being said, this is the perfect dress for interesting shoes and I’m holding out hope that we’ll see pictures of something else at some point.

I always love the occasions on which we get to see Kate with an actual bag and not a clutch, and I love her choice of jewelery here. Hope to see these earrings again at some point!

I hate to even comment on it because women’s bodies shouldn’t be up for judgement at every turn but I’m overriding myself because WOW. This is her perfect silhouette for me.

Im loving the hair i hope she continues to grow it out. I miss the ‘princessy hair’ from years past. It almost has a reddish tint to it in the sunlight.
Im glad she brought out the woodland charms they are adorable! I love leaves and trees and have a few nature inspired pieces of jewlery from Waxing Poetic.

I love the dress and her hair is fabulous. I’m with other commenters, total hair jealousy, envy etc. etc.

I love the way Kate and William interact, they have so much fun together. It’s great to see.

On the web there are titles such as, “Kate Channels Meghan in Yellow.” or “Kate Learns Style Tips for Meghan.” or “Meghan Inspires Kate.” Why would there be a thought that Meghan would have exclusive rights to this popular summer colour? Kate, in fact, wore yellow to Wimbledon two years ago.

Kate looks wonderful in this colour and the dress is flattering for her. I like the sleeves which are flirty and fun. The bag is listed as being pink, which seems an odd choice to go with bright yellow, although the leather looks to be a nude colour, so it doesn’t clash. It would be interesting to see Kate’s shoes. I am guessing they are nude pumps and hopefully not the suede, praline ones. It would be so nice if Kate had a collection of summer sandals, rather than wearing court shoes with very high heels. Perhaps we’ll be in for a nice surprise once a photo showing her shoes surfaces.

I am with you on the ridiculousness of the headlines, but Meghan wore a yellow dress just last week if I am not mistaken, so that’s probably what they are referring to.

Well, Susan you have confirmed that Kate did wear the suede, praline shoes, that so many of us are tired of. The only outfit I ever liked with these shoes was the dusty, pink dress, that Kate wore to Pippa’s wedding. I figured those were the right shoes for that dress. For everything else, I think those shoes are a miss. They don’t clash, but they don’t enhance. Either Kate loves the way they look, or she loves how comfortable they are…although with the height I can’t imagine they are comfortable…because she wears them continually. If only she would embrace the sandal look for summer.

The funny thing is that she did wear sandals a few times last summer to much acclaim at WKW, so you’d think she’d continue that tradition. Maybe she found them uncomfortable?

It seems I might be in the minority today but I liked yesterday’s dress better. I love both dresses but I thought yesterday’s was more interesting. Also, todays dress is tight under the bust. I’ll glad we can’t see what shoes the DoC is wearing! Lol

Ok, now she knocked it out of the park. I SO would wear this whole ensemble! The color is great, goes with her hair and her skin tone. Great fitting, as always. It’s fresh and beautiful. The hair looks glorious.Way to go, duchess. =)

I love this beautiful dress! Fantastic color, perfect fit, and the gently ruffled sleeve adds the right amount of interest. This is one of the best looks ever for the Duchess IMO.

I’m glad to see the Duke and Duchess wearing sunglasses. They are important for protecting the eyes from UV light damage. Instead of thinking of sunglasses a fashion accessory, they ought to be seen as essential outdoor protection.

Simply beautiful! This is a sparkling look for Kate.

Love the sunny color and simple cut of the dress. Those fluttery sleeves are so pretty!

Anticipating the inevitable comments re: wrinkled fabric/creasing of her dress. I really don’t fuss about a dress wrinkling with normal wear. Especially at a sporting event! Neither Duchess is a Teflon coated Barbie. They wear fabrics that are not plastic. I enjoy the reality of clothes that are actually being worn; not steamed and pinned to a lifeless mannequin.

I love this look and think that the DoC looks absolutely flawless. I like that we’re seeing yellow recently. I feel like Amal Clooney started the “trend” when she attended that royal wedding in May. Then the DoS wore that fabulous Brandon Maxwell dress. Now the DoC in this! Yellow certainly isn’t a color that I can wear, but I love seeing it on women who can pull it off.

Love the citrine ring! I wish she would wear cocktail rings more often. Her earrings are very pretty if they are the Asprey pair.

Even though this yellow isn’t her shade, the dress is a pretty summer frock. It is far more complimentary than the dress she wore yesterday. The fluttery cap sleeves and less severe neckline suit her well. She has had two fabulous hair days. She looks years younger with her hair like this than in the severe hairnetted updos.

Second that last part, much younger in the face and still enviably slim!

I’m curious as to what comments you’re referring to, do you have an example or a Link?

This look is perferction to me.
I love the style of this dress much more than yesterday’s, the bright colour it is much less blah.
The sunny yellow is in perfect keeping with her skin/hair colour and the season, a shame it seems to wrinkle easily (as in the topmost picture).
I wish we had been able to see the shoes she chose to go with this (fingers crossed it wasn’t the same suede pumps we saw yesterday, they’d let the look terribly down).
I think the jewellery is light enough for a sport-occasion.
A minor quibble is that the silver watch seems off along the golden jewellery – but than this watch seems less an accessory for Kate but rather an object of utility.
Also nice to see that the slightly rosy colour of the purse really seems to go with lots of colours (as commenters said yesterday).
I love her new hair by the way, even if I do think that Wimbledon calls for a nice ponytail.

All in all probably my favourite Wimbledon-Outfit so far (hoping a poll is coming my way)!

Also love the bright yellow and wish there was some shoe pics. Agreed that the suede pumps would ruin it.
Her hair looks amazing lately. So healthy and natural. Total hair jealousy. 🙂

I am with you on the silver watch comment. In my memory, I cannot think of her wearing any other watch. She obviously takes great care to coordinate all her other jewellery, but why not have at least one gold or warm-toned wristwatch?

Well. This is terrific. This is way up there for me for favorite Wimbledon looks. The bright, sunny color is so summer-perfect, and the gathered flutter sleeves are very flattering and feminine; very Dolce.

I was just thinking about the woodland charms necklace the other day, because I have been admiring the DoS’s smaller-scaled, delicate jewelry choices, and I was reminded that the DoC had some piece in that vein too. I think these charms are so sweet, and I covet them. Less sure about the earrings, but that’s just personal taste.

Her hair continues to look amazing lately. No peek of the shoes?

I don’t think they are the Rossis either. In this photo they look like a much lighter nude and not suede. I have to say I disagree with the verdict. The Wimbledon instagram story shows a full length video of the Duchess and it doesn’t look like the Rossis at all. I like the fact that the lighter nude matches the handbag better. Anyone else see what I see?

I love Wimbledon for the celebrity sightings (beyond the royals). Behind Luke Evans is Tom Holland (drinking from the water bottle so his face is obstructed). And that’s Benedict Cumberbatch next to Eddie Redmayne in that picture of Katherine Jenkins.

Kate looks beautiful in yellow. Such a cheerful color!
