Scotland 2021 Spring Tour Poll

Hello-hello, and happy Monday to everyone. As promised, I am back with a poll on what Kate wore during the Scotland tour.

The Duchess’s wardrobe was quintessential Kate.  There was no shortage of sartorial diplomacy, with pieces by Scottish brands and tartan designs. We also saw some major glitter with loaned earrings from HM.

There were multiple nods to the country’s flag with designs in the color blue; the first and final ensembles showcased that color.

We had high-end styles (Erdem, Catherine Walker) along with high street brands (Zara, Boden, Massimo Dutti), multiple repeats, and pieces manufactured in Scotland (Erdem striped sweater, below left).

We saw the sporty Duchess.

The gardening Duchess.

And the “I’ll try anything once” Duchess.

The poll is separated into two categories, casual and dressy looks.  We’ll start with the more casual ensembles. The first ‘casual’ outfit was worn on day two of the tour, showcasing a monochromatic look centered on Massimo Dutti’s Limited Edition Cashmere Wool Camel Coat, the Temperley London Cordial Sleeve Knit Top, and a pair of UFO trousers that prompted much debate.

The Duchess accessorized with new pieces from Emmy London, the Natasha Clutch, and Josie Pumps in a color called saddle brown.  She also brought back her Strathearn Tartan Scarf and Flora Drop Earrings that debuted the previous day.

The next casual ensemble was also from the second day of the tour when the Duke and Duchess visited the European Marine Energy Centre.  The Duchess repeated her Seeland Woodcock Advanced Jacket atop her Seeland ‘Hawker’ quilted jacket.

Beneath the jackets, she wore the Dobby Cotton Blouse by Brora and what looks like the Country Crew Neck Knit by Holland Cooper.  The Duchess also wore her See by Chloé Ankle Boots, Amaia Kids ‘Katie and Millie’ print mask, and Flora Drop Earrings. The jeans are unidentified.

On day three of the tour, the Duchess sported two more casual outfits.  The first was worn when land yachting at the West Sands beach at St. Andrews. It included Kate’s Barbour Longshore jacket atop the Nordic Crew Jumper by Campbell’s of Beauly, a Scottish brand. Beneath the sweater, the Duchess wore the Brora shirt seen the previous day.

The See by Chloé Ankle Boots returned, as did the Orelia Chain Huggie Hoop Earrings.  The hat and jeans remain unidentified.

The ensemble worn for the couple’s formal visit to the University of St. Andrews showcased a new Holland and Cooper jacket, the British brand’s Twill Double Breasted Blazer.  The Duchess also wore Erdem’s Lotus Stripe Jumper and what looks like a pair of trousers first seen at World Mental Health Day engagements in October 2020.

Accessories included the Veja +NET SUSTAIN Esplar Sneakers and the Freya Mini Hoops with Detachable Pearls

On the final day of the tour, we saw two more casual ensembles.  The first featured a previously worn Massimo Dutti green blazer, Jigsaw’s Silk Spot Print Cardigan, and trousers that look like the ‘Ginnie’ style from Reiss (with thanks to Middleton Maven for that ID).

Other pieces worn with this ensemble include the Superga 2750 Cotu Classic Sneakers, along with the Orelia Chain Huggie Hoops, and a new necklace from Daniella Draper, the Gold Fixed Alphabet Necklace.

Also worn Friday morning, Ralph Lauren’s Cable-Knit Cricket Sweater and cuffed black trousers that remain UFO.

Here is the poll.

Now for our review of the Duchess’s dressier looks, starting with her first engagement on Monday, May 24, when she was in royal blue pieces.  She wore a Zara blazer seen earlier in the month and a Hope Fashion Contrast Hem Pleated Skirt

The Duchess accessorized with her Gianvito Rossi 85 pumps, Métier London ‘Mini Roma’ style bag, Amaia Kids blue Phobe style mask, and Spells of Love Double Strand Beaded Chain Necklace, and the Flora Drop Earrings from Edinburgh jeweler Hamilton and Inches.

Wednesday night, the Duchess was in tartan and the Queen’s Dubai sapphire earrings for a special showing of Cruella.  The coat was Holland and Cooper’s Marlborough Trench Coat.

Beneath the coat, it looked like the Duchess wore a skirt by Joseph, the Metallic Gold Knit Maxi Skirt. She accessorized with her BB Green Velvet Pumps by Manolo Blahnik and a Palace of Holyroodhouse Tote.

Friday afternoon, the Duchess wore pink for a special tea with 5-year-old Mila Sneddon.  She was in the Color Block Silk Shirt Dress from ME+EM.

Accessories included Boden’s Skinny Belt, the Rebecca pump from Emmy London, her Missoma Rhodochrosite Charm Hoop Earrings, and the Pink Betsy Reusable Adult Mask by Amaia Kids.

For the couple’s final engagement, the Closing Ceremony of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Duchess wore Catherine Walker.

She carried a new bag by Strathberry, a Scottish brand, the Multrees Chain Wallet Clutch in a color called Embossed Croc Navy.  Her heels were a repeat, the Emmy London Rebecca pumps in Riviera Blue. In addition, the Duchess brought back earrings and brooch in a floral motif that look like vintage pieces. Jewelry also included Kiki McDonough’s Apollo Blue Topaz Pendant, and the Duchess wore the Blue Eloise Face Mask by Amaia Kids.

And now the poll.

Others don't seem to agree with me here but I must say I absolutely LOVED the green blazer look. (Maybe even more than the tartan trench look). It seems so wonderfully young and fresh while also looking professional!

Come sit next to me! I am always #TeamGreen for Kate. I loved the tartan trench as well, but the green blazer and polka dot blouse was a divine example of professional + feminine + accessible (for us CopyKates).

I've got the Superga sneakers in white and they are SO comfortable. I was surprised I love them so much since they've got a wee bit of heft to the soles.

William and Kate--what a classy couple! They represent the Monarchy so well. The tartan coat got my vote, but it was a very hard choice because of what the pink dress represented, a promise kept. Thank you Susan for your continual great Kate coverage, And ElizaMo, I always look forward to your comments,:-)

So many of her outfits seem to be too big and bulky. There is so much fabric!

In the casual poll I went with the gardening duchess. She looks great in this color, I love a polka dot, the pant is such a nice fit/length and I am a fan of the sneaks. Poll 2 - THAT COAT :) Fun Poll after a fun tour - Thanks for all the great posts
