We wanted to share a few quick updates with you today before the Thanksgiving mayhem (and ensuing shopping frenzy) takes hold here in the USA.
We start with a look at photos taken by Kate during the trek she and William made to the rain forest in Sabah, the visit was part of the couple’s Jubilee Tour. Below, an endangered Borneo Orangutan outlined against the sky.
The photos were released today on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge website, most of the images were captured in the Malaysian jungle this September. Below, Mount Kinabalu, the highest point in Borneo, the picture was shot on a flight to the Solomon Islands.
Kate has long been an avid photographer, she took these photos with her own camera, a Canon PowerShot G12.
Many readers will remember the Borneo excursion, the area they visited is part of the Royal Society’s South East Asia Rainforest Research Programme (SEARRP). (To see our original post, click here.)
Kate’s photos are showcased on the newly overhauled Royal website, it includes a “Life in Pictures” section.
Yesterday St. James’s Palace released photos from this section of the site in a post titled “A working day in the life of Flight Lieutenant Wales,” designed to show an average day at work for Prince William.
More from the Telegraph:
When they are on shift, they are expected to remain at “Readiness State 15”, meaning they aim to be airborne within 15 minutes of receiving a distress call. At night the time gap is 45 minutes because of the extra time needed to plan night-time sorties.
Together with photographs showing him relaxing, he is also seen making a single bed in a bare room as every shift “lasts 24 hours, and crew members stay on base close to the aircraft overnight”.
The newly revamped site is well worth a visit, there are multiple areas readers are likely to enjoy, including an image from a segment focusing in the Prince’s Charities Forum.

Also today, a quick word about my visit to LK Bennett’s newest US store, located in a Detroit suburb.
As you would expect, the shop is beautiful.
As lovely as everything is, yours truly was more interested in what was *inside* the store as opposed to any architectural or decorating details. It didn’t take long before we were engaged in what any sane person might call a SledgeFest; we called it delightful.
I tried on multiple pairs of the now-iconic Sledge, they are fabulous. I am still sorting out the proper size, not to mention color (I am leaning toward the black) before buying my first pair. I tried many just a few other pairs (cough-cough), including the Shilo, as well as the Harper. Again, all are very comfortable, I can see why Kate loves her shoes from this retailer.
Obviously, there is more than shoes to occupy one’s mind.
The clothing is every bit as beautiful as anticipated, I tried several things on and they fit like a dream.
I have to say that one of the very nicest things about my little reconnaissance mission (it was all in the name of blog research, really-truly-honestly) was meeting Andrea, a WKWer from Ohio, along with Lindsey from the LK Bennett store, I had to snag a picture of Lindsey, she is so incredibly helpful.
Lindsey is also wonderful about sharing info on new styles, upcoming specials, and she is more-than-willing to hunt down anything you are looking for, find it at another store, etc..
For those not familiar with Somerset, it is a lovely place to while away some time, I have been going there since it opened in 1969. LK Bennett is sandwiched between Kate Spade and Tory Burch, I’m not sure it gets much better than that for those who enjoy a spot of retail therapy now and again. In the same wing, Lilly Pulitzer, Brooks Brothers, Tiffany, Saks, and Neiman Marcus.
WKW MEETUP ALERT: I want to share a heads-up for everyone in Michigan, northern Ohio and even Ontario: Lindsey is putting together quite a soir’e at the store on Thursday, December 13th. I will be going, I hope other WKWers can come too, it seems like a golden opportunity to connect and meet each other! The party is an evening affair, 7-9pm, we’ll have more info in the next week or so to post here and on the WKW Facebook page.

I will definitely be at the LKB party in December! (If I'm invited!!!!) I was so sad to miss the last meet-up but my dog is doing much better.
Can't wait for the Links giveaway announcement. I might just have to by the egg earrings if they are going to be 15% off..... or the Colors by the Yard from Tiffanys.... wish I could get both!

I was absolutely appalled and annoyed at the hurtful negative and critical comments made about Kate.. People who don't know the situation should keep their nasty comments to themselves. In other words M.Y.O.B.
