It’s Michael Kors for Kate at Windsor Wedding Rehearsal

We have a number of updates today, beginning with news that Kate was out and about this afternoon.

The Duchess and Prince William are seen leaving Kensington Palace in the photo above. They were joining Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the way to Windsor. Here you see the motorcade with all four as they drove up the Long Walk to Windsor Castle.

Kate opted for an American brand, wearing a dress by Michael Kors. The style is called the Carnation Georgette Shirtdress.

It is from the brand’s Michael Michael Kors collection, the lower-priced line targeted at a somewhat younger demo than the primary collection. The midi-length dress is 100% polyester; it fastens up the front with buttons, and comes with a coordinating belt. The colors are officially called begonia pink and true navy; the dress is fully lined and machine washable. As of 6pm Thursday night it looks like Michael Kors has restocked the dress in almost all sizes on the US site ($175); it is available in all sizes on the UK site (£215).  A big “thank you” to  HeavenQRF on Twitter for her speedy ID of the dress, and also to Perth’s Fashion for her help.

The print was featured on quite a few items this spring. Below, left to right: the Carnation Ruffled Dress ($225); Carnation separates in a tile blue and black colorway; the Floral Georgette Dress ($140) showcases the larger-size version of the print in the pink and navy; small leather goods are also available.

Kate sported another pair of Givenchy sunglasses, the sGV 767 09X5 style.

Also today, an answer to a longtime UFO puzzle.

Many will recognize the item right away; it was worn by the Duchess to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July 2014. For years many of us have looked (and looked) for the piece. The answer came from Lady Coventry on Twitter last Saturday, when she shared a link to an eBay auctionThe Alena top by Reiss was recently offered in an eBay auction, allowing us to read more about the piece and see better photos of the garment. It is a blend of 78% cotton/22% silk, with a stand collar, pin tuck pleats on the front and back, button front with contrasting buttons, and binding at the armholes.

Here is another look at Kate wearing the piece.

It is nice to have this one resolved, it looks like a fabulous top.

Tonight’s other item: info & quick links to wedding coverage for those interested in watching the festivities.

I really liked this Michael Kors dress....love the style and pattern. Another perfect time where Kate's wardrobe reflects the occasion...red, white & blue for both US and UK. I liked this dress so much that I bought it! First dress of Kate's that I was able to afford and wasn't sold out...I also bought the blue floral print dress. I can't wait for them to arrive.

Beautiful dress! Really like it I have to say, would love to see the whole look. As a nursing mother I immediately wondered if she was wearing a button down dress for practical reasons! Button up dresses and shirts are so handy for nursing.

I like the dress and wish she'd wear stuff like this more often. V-necks are very flattering on her and she doesn't wear them that often...she's usually in high-necked stuff that I don't particularly care for.

Is this the pair of glasses worn by Pippa? The dress is so pretty. I adore those long-sleeved dresses, to my opinion it's very elegant. Can't wait to see Kate tomorrow! And I think we need coverage of the wedding here as well, because Kate, William and the children are very much involved.

So true, long-sleeved dresses make you look very elegant, classy, royal, presidential and what not?. They are not very popular with women, so I love the fact that the Duchess wears them. I do too!!!

Thanks for the ID - I was tantalized the by the Daily Mail post cause I don't remember seeing this before. It's quite lovely and just the thing for getting out and about in the warmish weather they've been having.
