Kate Mixes Old & New for Sophie Carter’s Wedding UPDATED – NEW PHOTOS

The Duchess brought back a much-loved ensemble for the wedding of a very close friend this weekend.

Kate, William, George and Charlotte were all at the wedding of Sophie Carter yesterday. Royal Photographer Mark Stewart shot the exclusive photos, and we were able to license some to share with you here on WKW.

The children were attendants in the wedding.

We learn more from People’s story:

On Saturday afternoon, members of the royal family stepped out for the wedding of one of Kate Middleton’s closest friends, Sophie Carter, who married Robert Snuggs at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk.

In addition to being a very good friend, Ms. Carter is one of Princess Charlotte’s godmothers. Here you see her arriving at Charlotte’s christening in July 2015.

Also at the wedding this weekend, Carole, Michael and James Middleton. Were she not expecting a baby shortly, Pippa Middleton would surely have been at the wedding as well. Below, you see Ms. Carter on the far left, arriving at Pippa Middleton’s wedding last May. Also in the photo, Lady Laura Meade (in green) and her husband, James Meade. (Mr. Meade is another godparent to Charlotte.)

Rebecca English’s story in The Daily Mail notes that “Sophie is a member of the ‘Turnip Toffs’ that make up William and Kate’s set around their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, and is one of Charlotte’s godmothers.”

And this from People:

Sophie… has previously joined the Cambridges on ski vacations and has even accompanied Kate to church with the Queen at Sandringham.

Sophie is seen at Sandringham in January 2017 along with Carole and Michael Middleton, as they were about to head to church.

The bride looked stunning in a gown with a fitted lace bodice and silk crepe skirt.

Her accessories included a silk (I think) headband and diamond drop earrings.

Now to what the Duchess wore to the wedding.

She was in the Catherine Walker coat and coordinating lace dress first seen when the Cambridge family arrived in Berlin in July 2017.

Kate wore another headband-style piece yesterday, the Gold Rose Headband in a custom blue color (£430). Thank you to The Lady’s Maid on Twitter for identifying this piece.

It is by Juliette Botterill Millinery.

Kate chose an icy blue style from this designer for Trooping the Colour this year.

Kate also reprised the Kiki McDonough Eden blue topaz and white gold flower necklace first seen in Germany, as well as the Blue Topaz and Diamond earrings worn with the ensemble.

Kate’s shoes are still a bit of a mystery. I’ve not had time to look for them, but there are some good theories on Twitter, and I imagine the mystery will be resolved soon.

A Rebecca English piece in the Daily Mail also has photos from the wedding.

Did anyone identify Sophie’s adorable textured dress with the cute collar and sleeves or the velvet coat? I think her style is cute!

I've been curious about the clutch she carried. The fluffy, cornflower blue, satin, ruffly thing her daughter is holding at one point. The Duchess is also photographed carrying it as her accessory that day. I don't remember seeing it before. It is such a different style to that she normally carries. Have I missed it being noted before?

She looks lovely, as always. Thank you for the post.

Just STUNNING! She has her style down and it is so ladylike and perfect. She leads the way in how to look and behave in the royal family. These last two headband choices are just outstanding. I want one!!!!
