The Cambridge Children are Darling in New Video with Sir David Attenborough

We’re back with a very brief post about an adorable new video of the Cambridge children quizzing Sir David Attenborough. Each has a question about the natural world for the acclaimed broadcaster and natural historian. It is the first time we have heard the children speaking so clearly. Here is the video.

The video release is helping to publicize David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet, a new documentary that debuts on Netflix tomorrow night in the USA.

The children’s questions were reportedly recorded in August at Kensington Palace by Kate and William; all three young royals sound just darling. My favorite might be Prince Louis, as he holds on to leaves from a nearby bush, takes a deep breath, and asks about Sir David’s favorite animal.

Netflix also released a video with Sir David answering similar questions from Billie Eilish, Judy Dench, David Beckham, and others.

The Cambridge children all met Sir David recently when he came to Kensington Palace for a viewing of the new film. Below, a photo from that event.

It really was a treat to see the children this morning.  The sweater Prince Louis wears in the video reminded me just a little bit of one worn by the Duchess for an April 2017 Heads Together event with their white backgrounds and variegated stripes in navy and red.

We’ll leave you with a quick Fashion Flashback from a year ago yesterday when the Duke and Duchess were at the Aga Khan Centre in London for a pre-Pakistan tour engagement.
Kate was in a dress that was part of a collaborative collection from Aross Girl and Soler London.

Kate’s dress was the Amanda style ($556). The maxi-length design was made of silk georgette with a gathered round neckline. The garment also featured an elasticated waist, self-belt, sheer sleeves, and cuffs with tie fasteners that create a blouson effect.

The Duchess accessorized with her Emmy London ‘Rebecca’ pumps ($455) and Natasha clutch ($400).

And she debuted a new pair of earrings.

They were by Zeen, the Dazzling Ceramic Drops ($8).

Here’s one more photo. May everyone stay safe and healthy!

I love absolutely everything about this video. It reminds me of my childhood, learning about animals and taking care of the environment--and David Attenborough wildlife specials! Just that fresh feeling of hope and energy. Very well done!

Such sweet children! Louis' diction is remarkably clear for a two year old.

The colours in that dress just blend perfectly and the earrings really complimented the outfit.

Oh my gosh they are just too darn cute. I love the sound of their sweet very British voices. I know their parents and grandparents are so very proud of them, and especially their mother.

I think that has to be the most original royal children video I’ve ever seen, quite the ground-breaker. It’s so rare to hear any young royals actually speak, and they certainly don’t usually such an active role in the production! Utterly captivating.

Interested to see you compare Louis’ smart top with the Kate’s Heads Together tee. I’m afraid the one it reminded me of is the H&M top I myself bought, which was being sold partly in aid of the British Team preparing for the America’s Cup with Ben Ainslie. I enjoy wearing that one because no one has yet pointed out that I’m in red, white, blue, which can sometimes be seen as a little strong in the patriotism department. It’s very neat and less strident to use just one or two red stripes among the blue and white. George’s red band is quite pronounced, but still avoids turning him into a complete Union Jack flag.

Thanks for the delightful flashback. The Aross Girl, Soler London flowing midi was a lovely sight on Kate, with the intense turquoise neatly offset by a slightly clashing green belt, giving a welcome hint of edge. It was a clever way to prefigure the colour and opulence of Eastern dress prior to the tour. I always remember the success of those very budget earrings against the impressive price tag of that dress.

Of course the H&M tee was never actually worn by Kate so your pick is by far the more relevant ?
