The Duchess Wears Emilia Wickstead for Bahamas Arrival

The Duchess Wears Emilia Wickstead for Bahamas Arrival

The Duchess wore Emilia Wickstead for today’s arrival in Nassau, Bahamas.

The RAF jet carrying the Duke and Duchess landed late this afternoon at Lynden Pindling International Airport.

The couple was met by a band, members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

This is the last leg of the couple’s Caribbean tour after visits to Belize and Jamaica.

They are in the Bahamas through Saturday evening.

Others welcoming them today included Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper and Attorney General Ryan Pinder.

Eight-year-old Aniah Moss gave the Duchess flowers. A Tip of the Tiara to Simon Perry, People magazine’s Chief Foreign Correspondent, for taking a photo of Anieh and sharing it online

More from Simon’s People story.

“[Kate] said I had a nice dress and I was beautiful and thank you for the flowers,”  Aniah tells PEOPLE. Asked what she thought of the royals, she adds, “I think they’re very tall!”

Aniah’s mother, Kendenique Campbell-Moss, says her daughter was asked to perform the flower girl duty without a chaperone: “She was all on her own like a big girl!”

After the airport welcome, it was time to head to a meeting with the Prime Minister.

The first order of business: formal photos to memorialize the occasion. Below, you see the Duke, Duchess, Prime Minister Philip Davis, and Ann-Marie Davis.

Hello reports this is not the first time Prince William has met the Prime Minister.

The Duke met the Prime Minister at The Earthshot Prize reception on the final evening of COP 26 in Glasgow, shortly after he had been elected as Prime Minister.

From this Daily Mail piece

Mr Davis told William: ‘We have been looking forward to your arrival. It’s long overdue. We are delighted you are here.’

William replied: ‘Yes very much, excited to be here.’

Mr Davis said: ‘And our best wishes are sent to the Queen, and congratulations on her Platinum Jubilee.

‘I do not think we will see the same again’, to which William nodded.

The foursome is reported to have spoken for about thirty minutes, covering topics like climate change and protection of the Andros Barrier Reef, the third-largest in the world.

Now for our look at what Kate wore this afternoon and early evening.

The dress is artfully constructed with multiple segments for the fitted bodice and panels in the full skirt. The neckline treatment is similar to a style shown in the A/W 2022 ready-to-wear collection.

The dress color is a sartorial reference to her host country’s flag.

The Duchess accessorized with an envelope clutch that looks like a bespoke piece created to go with the dress.

The Duchess kept on the same shoes seen earlier today, the Gianvito 105 in Bisque Suede ($725).

She wore new earrings by Sézane, the French retailer’s Taylor style ($130).

The earrings are gold-plated brass with reconstituted turquoise. Thank you to Heaven for another fab ID.

She also wore hair accessories with her ponytail.

They look like they are from Bijou Brigitte, the Glowing Hearts Hairpins (€7.95, about $9).

Thank you to Royal Fashion Police for sharing the ID by Julia

Tomorrow is a busy day with the Cambridges scheduled to take part in at least five events, including:

  • a special school assembly
  • a meet and greet recognizing frontline health care workers
  • visit Parliament Square for the Taste of the Bahamas
  • see Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Regatta
  • attend a reception hosted by the Governor General

A complete hit! Beautiful color, flattering fit + love the more current silhouette. I’m wondering what products her hair dresser used to keep her hair tidy. I have the same hair that she does(not a brag) and have spent many hours when in the Caribbean humidity trying to get my hair to do anything but be a frizzy mess

I think this was a really fresh and modern look - hair was fun, earrings even more fun. She also looked very comfortable in this dress. (I actually feel it had a similar feel to the Givenchy wedding dress worn by Meghan Markle, with its simplicity and structured tailoring...) I think the weight of this fabric would have been better suited for some of her other engagements where she opted for a more flowy chiffon fabric that billowed in the wind, and not sure why it had three-quarter sleeves in such a warm climate, but still liked the overall look and the clutch worked great with the angles around the neckline.

Love it! Great colour choice with a simple, tailored look. Love the earrings!

I love this look. Yes, it is severe, but not overly so (the pretty ponytail looks elegant and gives a girly aspect to the entire look that compliments it). The dress as a retro look. As someone who loves vintage style, it reminds me a bit of a 1930s or 40s frock. Unlike most others I also admire the darts at the bust: they are part of the design of the dress and not meant to be hidden or downplayed. They are as much meant to be noticed and admired as the dramatic neckline. The earrings are Wow! They also look great. So, what appears to be a quite severe look is really much more feminine and pretty than at first glance. The lovely severity of the dress is beautifully dramatic and yet, softened, too, by the other elements I've mentioned. Kate looks Great, as always!

Catherine is wearing my favorite color, aqua,so that part of her dress (and her bag) are a win for me. I'm sure she and William are both ready to be back home with their kiddos. Well done, Catherine and William!
