With less than nine days before The Wedding, Kate Middleton did a little shopping today on the King’s Road. The bride-to-be wore another wrap dress from Issa for her London shopping expedition.
The Mail described her ensemble this way:
“She wore a £480 Issa short-sleeved black wrap dress and tan court kitten heels – which she was spotted wearing four years ago – accessorised with her 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
Some of the items still seem to be available for purchase as of this writing, although that is likely to change. Quickly.
- Tropical Bird Print Dress ($105)
- Lace Cut Square Trim Blouse ($89)
- Bright Floral Bandeau Frill Dress ($72)
- Feather Print One Shoulder Dress ($72)
We show the cardigan in two of the four available colors seen on the BR site. Three colors are currently discounted to $44.99, while a fourth is priced at $34.99; the sweater was originally $59.50. BR’s parent company (Gap Inc.) also shared its happiness at the visit from Miss Middleton:
“We’re a little excited that Kate Middleton stopped by our Banana Republic store on King’s road, in London, yesterday. “We’re not here to brag about it OK, just a bit. She bought a few pieces from the summer collection, and charmed everyone in the store. Now, of course, she’s got other things to attend to, such as, you know, preparing for a Royal Wedding. Good luck next week, Kate!”
More on Banana Republic from The Telegraph‘s story:
“The US-based brand is known as the “more grown-up sister of Gap”, its parent company, offering the kind of sleek, unfussily elegant, shock-free wardrobe staples loved by Middleton. Indeed, according to an eyewitness, the imminent bride chatted to staff about how she “loves Banana Republic,” and how she “will be shopping with them in future.”
Perhaps the most intriguing purchase was made at Whistles:
Yes, the re-issued version of the blouse she already owns, you know, the one worn in her engagement photo. If that is the case, we’re guessing it is part of a prank or future bit of frivolity. For those so inclined, the blouse remains in stock but in very limited sizing, don’t dawdle if contemplating a purchase. Most presume the purchases are for the upcoming honeymoon, although we hope the ‘Kate blouse’ doesn’t make the trip.
