Today we were pleasantly surprised by the release of Prince Louis’s first official photos.
In the first image, we see the tiny Prince in a white ensemble, propped up by a pillow on a chair or sofa. The picture was taken on April 26th, when Louis was just three days old.
In the second photo we see Princess Charlotte looking very much the big sister, holding her baby brother on her lap and giving him a kiss. This picture was shot last week on Charlotte’s birthday, May 2nd. NOTE APR 2024: Photo removed per copyright mandate.

The Duke and Duchess would like to thank members of the public for their kind messages following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday.
The first pictures have very much been a family affair for all three children. George’s were taken when he was almost a month old, shot by Michael Middleton at the Middleton family’s home in Bucklebury.
The first photos we saw of Princess Charlotte were taken by Kate when the Princess was 2-3 weeks old. A darling set of four photos was released, all showing George and his new sister at the family’s home, Anmer Hall.
In the solo shot of Prince Louis I believe he is wearing the sweater, top, and leggings by Irulea that Charlotte wore in her first photos (including the one above). The sweater worn by Prince Louis in the picture with Princess Charlotte remains unidentified. You may have recognized Charlotte’s cardigan in the new photo, Prince George wore it for the Queen’s 90th birthday photo by Annie Leibovitz. Here you see how all three looked in their first publicly released pictures. It appears Louis has the darker hair we saw on Princess Charlotte; George was more light-haired at that age.
What a delightful surprise it was seeing these! We’ll leave you with these two side-by-side, they are such sweet images.

The quilt Louis is lying on in his solo portrait is identical to an OKA one I have had for about 12 years. It doesn’t seem to be on their website any more, but perhaps another shop now stocks it? It’s doubled sided with the quite plain print seen in the photo on one side and a busier print in the same colours on the other. I am so tickled to see it here!

The lighting or something in photo of Prince Louis on the pillow makes the photo look almost like a painting. What a beautiful, precious infant. Thanks to the Cambridges for sharing!

So lovely! I adore their family & Kate does an amazing job of pulling everything together, seemingly with everything!! I love that she takes the pictures of their precious wee ones. :)
