Today we take an opportunity to revisit several topics we haven’t had time for of late, although there are two functions tonight of note, one where Kate & William are expected .

We begin with the identification of a handbag we have seen Kate carry with some frequency, the slim black clutch.  First, a refresher showing The Duchess carrying the bag during the couple’s visit to Copenhagen in support of

The British Monarchy

Here is a better look:

Once again those savvy stylistas on the WKW FB page have come up with what we think is the answer. Fashion-forward Kristen deserves the credit for this identification, she suggested it is Stuart Weitzman’s Raz Clutch, we think she is spot-on. Below we show the bag as recently seen for sale on Amazon.

Stuart Weitzman

The dimensions shown for the bag make sense: 10.5″ long x 3.75″ high x 2″ deep. It very much looks like Kate’s bag, it also makes sense as Kate is clearly a Weitzman fan, wearing the company’s “Zipkin” boots (more in this post) for that UNICEF Copenhagen trip.

Also today, an ID on a blouse Kate wore during the couple’s North American tour this summer. Below we see William and Kate touring the devastation left by an enormous fire in Slave Lake, Alberta.

Canadian Heritage

The top generated quite a bit of discussion at the time; below we show the Lauren by Ralph Lauren chiffon ruffle blouse as seen at House of Fraser. Our thanks to WKW FB friend Clare for making this ID.

Via House of Fraser

Sadly the blouse is no longer available, it is a cute piece. (It is possible others may have suggested this was the piece when we were all tracking it this summer, if so, let me know so you may also receive credit.)

A few product updates we think you might find of interest, starting with the Sebago Bala, it is back in stock on the Sebago UK site.

Sebago UK

The shoe is priced at £80 (approximately $125 USD at today’s exchange rates), there is very limited stock available as of this writing. We hope to have an update for you shortly regarding the shoe’s availability on the Sebago US site.

There are two events this evening (Monday, 11.28) that will interest Kate fashion followers, the highest profile function is a reception at Buckingham Palace for journalists expected to cover the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next year. More from the UK Press Association:

Senior royals will also be mingling with the press including the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

In honour of the guests the palace’s East Gallery will be renamed the Tweet Suite for the night – for those who want to post online messages – and the space will also contain displays about the Queen’s Golden and Silver Jubilees.

We love the way Buckingham Palace continues to embrace social media as a way of communicating “The Firm’s” message. Tonight’s event is not formal, we expect to see Kate in a dress and heels, however, it is not the sort of function where a hat is expected.

Also this evening, the British Style Awards, we will have more on that event should Kate be named as Britian’s most stylish.

US television viewers might want to mark their calendars for Tuesday, December 13th, that is when NBC airs Inside the Royal Marriage.

Here is more on the show from TBI, an industry site:

The show taps into the enormous interest in the young couple. “They are doing things their own way,” explains executive producer Matt Drury. “Whereas previous generations of royal newlyweds have just cut ribbons and shaken hands with people, they have a clear idea what they want.” He adds: “The biggest challenge is that there is blanket media coverage of everything that they do, but we wanted to cover things not revealed before and add value to the stories people already know.”

The program has been produced by the same company that did Inside the Royal Wedding, Spun Gold TV.

Spun Gold TV

The UK production company has done a number of programs showcasing royal topics, including Prince William’s Africa, and How to Nab a Prince.

Finally today, two flash sales that may be of interest to Kate followers, both at ‘members only’, (cough-cough) sites. The first is a sale on Hudson Jeans beginning today (Monday) at 3pm ET on Rue La La. (Click here if you need an invite.)

Hudson Jeans at Rue La La

The second is tomorrow at, another Kate fave, J. Brand Jeans will be on sale beginning at 12 Noon.

If in need of an invite for Gilt, just click here. (The ‘cough-cough’ reference up above is because we look askance at the phrase “members only” because anyone with an email address can join, it is not quite as exclusive as sometimes portrayed.)

EDITORIAL NOTE: We have received multiple emails asking why we haven’t posted about Kate’s most recent shopping trip to Tesco in Anglesey. Those are not photos we care to share, they cross the line into the intrusive category.  Pictures of Kate in the parking lot are fine in my opinion, she knows there may be photographers on hand. But once inside a store I think she should be entitled to some level of privacy, and shouldn’t have to worry about the public knowing precisely what she purchased right down to the brand of potatoes.

  1. Well done, on your dignified approach to what ought, or ought not, to be ”flashed” to the public, from a person’s private life! Thank you for keeping the standard, and making all of us a little more conscious of when our own curiosity may be fuel for the appaling behaviour of highly unethical ”journalists” ”photographers” ”bloggers” etc who scavenge off people in the limelight …

  2. Okay… so what’s the blue top Kate has on in the TV interview? The bit I can see looks striking!

  3. I agree, thanks for not posting those photos. I saw one where you could see she had spotted the photographer and she did NOT look happy about it.

I imagine the parking lot photos, etc., are annoying, but I think in this day and age they are unfortunately to be expected. If you pick up any of the weekly celebrity rags there are loads of photos of celebs leaving supermarkets, pumping gas, walking out of starbucks, etc., so if I were Kate I’d be resigned to that. However, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen photos of a celeb INSIDE a store unless it was obvious that they had brought the photographer in or were attending an event (i.e., unless they were SEEKING to be photographed). It does seem to cross some extra line that photos out in a parking lot or on the sidewalk do not. Also, with all the rumours flying about whether or not she has an eating disorder, whether or not she is pregnant, etc., having her grocery purchases on display for everyone to analyze is especially loaded.

  4. Green is a pretty colour, not many celebrities wear green. It makes Kate stand out from the crowd.

  5. I am SO happy the blouse from this summer was IDed FINALLY! I thought that was such a beautiful and simple outfit… and I just love shirts with ruffles. Perhaps there are some other options like that in the great world of fashion (and by chance, for a cheaper price!). :) Thank you!!!

  6. I agree, Bravo for not posting the shopping pics. I also saw them elsewhere and my first thought was that they were from the store’s security camera. Appalling invasion of privacy. SERIOUSLY doubt we’ll be hearing of HRH visiting Tesco’s again.

  7. Tonight at Buckingham palace reception, I’m fairly confident that Kate wore a Mulberry ‘Bright Cabbage Peace & Love Jacquard’ dress! I love Mulberry and happen to stumble upon the look while I was shopping

  8. Picture of Kate with a bob.

  9. Catherine is wonderful, but she should really stop wearing green, it’s not her color. The dress worn tonight is terrible.

  10. I think Kate wore green. Here is a link to the DailyMail article but there aren’t many pictures:

  11. I agree that the fact that as the Duchess is dressed to go to the supermarket is a private matter, but I admit that knowing that it does so with absolute normality as many other wives of the world to increase further the esteem I have for Her. It ‘a woman who could play a role in the royal family with grace, but closer to real people, I find it admirable. There are people who suggest she is not doing anything, I believe has given much to the Monarchy and especially to all the British.

  12. Thank you for taking a stand about publishing the photos of the Duchess of Cambridge in Tescos. I love this site; seeing what Kate is wearing on her official visits and a couple on her not “working”, but the supermarket pictures are a total invasion of her privacy. It’s tasteless and I have said this many times, it doesn’t matter if we miss the manufacturer of one sweater (jumper). For those who have said, it is what Kate signed up for, respect her privacy.

  13. Can’t wait to see what the Duchess wears tonight!

    • Green silk-jacquard dress from Mulberry. I’d seen it on the Mulberry site and disliked it, except for the beautiful color. Shirtdresses with below-the-knee hems are not my idea of chic. However, there appear to be no full-length photos of the Duchess wearing this dress, and without seeing such a photo, and the shoes she picked to wear with the dress, no one can really say how well she carried it off.

I’m hopeful that the admin can come up with a picture I couldn’t find.

  14. I just wanted to add my applause to you. I also agree that they are entitled to some level of privacy and think it’s great that you did not post the pictures. Love this site.

  15. I completely agree and am glad that you did not post those pictures! They are entitled to some privacy! I love this site and check it every couple of days but am glad to see that there are lines of respect that are not crossed!!

  16. I have to disagree that “it was what she signed up for.” Is it polite to take prying photos of anyone in a grocery store?

  17. the more I look at the red coat outfit the move I fall in love with the silhouette. :) Actually I am wearing something similar today: belting on my over coat!

  18. The white blouse…hmmm I think Kate pulled it off pretty well but to be honest, it’s just a so so piece to me. I would not even consider to buy it.
Just read admin’s note: personally I don’t think it makes much sense to me. She knows the package deal she signed up for when she got involved with the royal family. I appreciate the thought but to me it sounds also very much like a justification. What’s the difference between a parking lot and inside the store? It doesn’t make any difference to me. :) But again I love this site and respect what ever decision the owners/admins make on posting.

  19. I have to admit to being conflicted about the shopping pics. I love seeing all pictures of Catherine but agree that photographing her shopping cart is a bit intrusive. The angle of the pictures appear that someone from the upper level office (often behind a blacked out window) took the pictures and if that is the case then shame on them.

I’m a member of Ruelala but have forgotten my password. :( . I’ll have to look it up to get back on the site. Hope the Sebago shoes are back in stock in the U.S. They are supposed to notify me.

Thanks for your great website. I’m officially addicted.

    • I am conflicted about the photos as well. I absolutely LOVE seeing photos of her, I freak out whenever there’s a new ‘sighting’ of any kind and it totally makes my day!!!!! ;p But at the same time, yes, I agree about the intrusiveness:/ So I’m not really sure what my opinion is on all of that business…but like everyone else, I certainly respect your decision not to post and discuss them here. :)
Congrats to Kristen and Clare! The WKW FB community is such fun. :)

  20. Whenever someone mentions “poofy blouse,” I immediately think of that one ep of “Seinfeld” – maybe Kate wore that dress as a sly homage to the show? (I kid, I kid!)

Thank you, WKW, for not posting those pictures. I saw them on another site, and it felt icky to see them – I felt like they were taken from a manager’s office or something.

  21. you can go to ebay and get those shoes that are mention in this article for half the price! Ebay also has great deals on J brand and Hudson pants also for the fraction of the price!

  22. BRAVO for refusing to publish those photos. They’re just beyond the pale, and I’m relieved that one of my favorite sites has chosen the moral high road. Well done!

  23. Go you for not linking to pix from inside the supermarket. It annoys me no end when folks tut tut and yet manage to slip in a link … it’s ridiculous that a person’s shopping cart is fair game for perusal. How would we feel if someone hacked into the Cambridges’ AMZ account and shared what they’d bought recently. Snooping is snooping.

  24. Bravo for not posting the inside-Tesco’s photos. I commented on another site recently that while the Duchess (or any other prominent figure) is fair game when pushing her cart across an outdoor parking lot, no one needs to follow her right into stores.

I can’t say I care for that Ralph Lauren blouse. In my opinion, no one over the age of 8 should wear puffed sleeves. That includes princesses, various Disney princess gowns to the contrary.

  25. I love that you are taking the classy root by not delving into her private life!
